Xenarc MP-SC8 CS1 Input power capacitors?

Alright, it seems like somehow the external 19v regulated powersupply had a voltage spike when it was powering down and spiked my great computer.. from what i can see there are two what appears to be capacitors, used to be tannish in color, probably a ceramic surface mount, burnt to hell... I measured one side of the capacitors and it does see the 19v when connected to the wallplug. so im guessing this is some sort of input power filter or something. nothing else appears to be burnt.. and nothing else seems to get any power anywhere else except where it ends at those two caps. Now im wondering, what can i do to replace these caps? i dont even think there is any markings on them, the only thing i can see is maybe size, there are a few somewhat larger ceramic caps on the board, but it seems that these two are probably related to the ones that are a little smaller (maybe 1/8 times smallr) than the larger ones. is it possible to throw any sized surface mount cap on here? and do you guys think that anything else may be blown?

i can take some pictures if needed.

alright i went ahead and took pictures.

EDIT: OOPS! i think i posted this in the wrong forum.. or maybe not.. if this is in the wrong spot moderators please feel free to move it. sorry about that.

OH and 19v was measured on the left side nearest the ports.. no voltage on the other side however. i suppose this defines which side is + and -? or does it matter? is it possible to test the polarity by just setting a DMM to check for resistance (make it beep if the traces connect) and then touch each side to see which side is ground. (using the usb or something as ground reference)

Can you look closely at the twenty pin chip.
Thats either a flash burn from the destruction of the other components or it has a hole in it.
Read the ID off that chip then clean it to make sure it's not also toasted.

It appears to be a TI chip It has

          GD75232
          (Texas logo) 54K
          CR8L

cleaned it off and took more pics, it appears only the original two are blown now, the rubbing alcohol took the grime right off. though ill do a more throrough cleaning when i remove the caps and replace them.

i also took my DMM and tested those two what appears to be spots for leads for one single larger capacitors, and there is continuity between all 3 spots on their respective sides. is it possible to perhaps use these spots and place one large capacitor there?

for reference if anyone didnt notice it takes a 19v in, then somewhere in there it does a conversion for 12v, 5v, etc. as there are power molex connectors that connect harddrives, etc. on one side of the board. so a power supply of sorts is built in.

COuld habe been sharpie as well, I have seen chips marked with sharpies before on mobos

The GD75232 is a multiple RS232 line driver and receiver.

If it's the only fried then you're really lucky. Just remove it and test the board, only serial port will not work. You can find these chips (or their equivalents) on most boards with integrated serial ports.

i ended up sending it back to xenarc.. looks like they replaced a bunch of transistors.. as well as the ferrite beads.

cost me a pretty 100ish plus shipping i think. but it seems to be working.. though USB is kinda weird. could be my hubs just tripping out though.
