Re: Xenarc MP-SC8 CS1 Input power capacitors?
i ended up sending it back to xenarc.. looks like they replaced a bunch of transistors.. as well as the ferrite beads.
cost me a pretty 100ish plus shipping i think. but it seems to be working.. though USB is kinda weird. could be my hubs just tripping out though.

Hifonics oldschool amp gen XI channel problem?
Ive been having this problem for awhile, and ive realized it only happens when its cold out. once it warms up, the left side fades back in. today, it didnt fade back in... but just from the symptoms above, im thinking some capacitors are bad, just because when it warms, it works perfectly fine.
is there anything else that may have gone bad? when its not working, the right channel is EXTREMELY loud. like all the power is going to one side. then gradually fades to the other side and becomes crystal clear instead of all distorted.
its also a 4 channel amp.. i think the fronts...

Re: Xenarc MP-SC8 CS1 Input power capacitors?
It appears to be a TI chip It has
GD75232
(Texas logo) 54K
CR8L
cleaned it off and took more pics, it appears only the original two are blown now, the rubbing alcohol took the grime right off. though ill do a more throrough cleaning when i remove the caps and replace them.
i also took my DMM and tested those two what appears to be spots for leads for one single larger capacitors, and there is continuity between all 3 spots on their respective...Last edited by miztahsparklez; 09-14-2006, 02:13 PM.

Re: Xenarc MP-SC8 CS1 Input power capacitors?
OH and 19v was measured on the left side nearest the ports.. no voltage on the other side however. i suppose this defines which side is + and -? or does it matter? is it possible to test the polarity by just setting a DMM to check for resistance (make it beep if the traces connect) and then touch each side to see which side is ground. (using the usb or something as ground reference)

Xenarc MP-SC8 CS1 Input power capacitors?
Alright, it seems like somehow the external 19v regulated powersupply had a voltage spike when it was powering down and spiked my great computer.. from what i can see there are two what appears to be capacitors, used to be tannish in color, probably a ceramic surface mount, burnt to hell... I measured one side of the capacitors and it does see the 19v when connected to the wallplug. so im guessing this is some sort of input power filter or something. nothing else appears to be burnt.. and nothing else seems to get any power anywhere else except where it ends at those two caps. Now im wondering,...

Re: PSU: Antec Neo 480W Issue
hmm my antec 480 true blue is having a somewhat similar problem.. wouldnt allow my system to boot sometimes.. me thinks my radeon killed the powersupply. ive been using a 500w psu from antec.. with the controller board for the individual rails. seems like its working okay.
