    Genuine Nichis?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/271078054083...84.m1439.l2649

    From another badcapper.

I noticed the series looks like "PR" from the auction. Can't find anything on this series, so no idea if it's fake or just a custom run for a manufacturer and this is old stock. If it's a fake, it's a very good one. That's 20 caps for about $3.25, which is an excellent price, if they are genuine.

    Re: Genuine Nichis?

I doubt they are. Typical ebay fakes and junk. look at the date codes on top of all that. Never heard of, nor could I find any data on PR series. fakes.

Could be old stock from 2004? At least few reputable members have commented on the PR series

        Wrong sleeve color.

They should be the same color as PWs- Nichicon's "Dark Brown."

TC, they are "old school" SMPS caps. Those probably wouldn't even count as such today.

        1000u/16v, 10x20- 120 milliohm, 700 mA ripple.

Yes, I think his stuff is legit... Looking at his other stuff, he has a lot of NOS. OTOH, his Rubys look a little weird. Somehow, I think the font on their sleeves should look more 'crisp'. Buy at your own risk.

            Re: Genuine Nichis?

The PR series is old, discontinued in the mid-00s, then resurrected at customer demand as the RoHS-compliant PS series. They were a very decent series back in the early 00s, but I would only use them to replace similar vintage parts or for GP applications. Assuming they are genuine, of course. And being that old, they probably should be re-formed: charged to a gradually increased voltage through a current limiting resistor (e.g. 1K).

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

His Panny FCs don't quite look right either. He doesn't show the vent stamp or rubber seal, though, so It's hard to tell.

Need real mobo dump of BIOS v402 for ASUS PRIME Z590-A - stock image no help
                by DynaxSC
                Hi,

I have a serious problem to program the Z590 chipset SRAM with a Management Engine after replacing the chipset.
The new chipset is factory new and is not containing any Management Engine. Any attempts to program it into the chipset under Windows ends with a failure (eg. Error 20: Management Engine Device not present, or something similar).
Due to the lack of the ME several ports on the board, including all M.2 ports aren't working, booting OS works only on USB. So it's now other way, as to program the chipset with a ME.

Usually on ASUS boards it worked...

MSI PRO B660M-G DDR4 - real bios dump from board needed (no stock bios)
                by DynaxSC
Hi, I have an MSI PRO B660M-G DDR4 board with damaged BIOS and i need a bios dump from a real board, along with MAC, UUID and Serial Number info (eg. a BIOS screenshot and pictures from the board stickers).

I need to reconstruct the bios on my board, based on another bios image form a real board - meaning a bios image containing MAC address, UUID and Serial number. A stock BIOS is not suffiecient, as it is impossible to discover where the MAC, UUID and SerialNumber are stored. Tried with a similar board, but there are too much differences, and the stock BIOS is missing a lot of...

                Fake Caps in Xbox 360
                by Galraedia
I decided to take one of the Rubycon capacitors out of a phat Xbox 360 with a Zephyr motherboard and noticed that all the Rubycon capacitors near the CPU were fake. The capacitors in question are Rubycon MFZ 680uf 6.3V and they all have a bullseye bottom, something not found in genuine Rubycon capacitors. None of them were leaking, they all have the K top, and the system has never been opened before. It appears Microsoft was using fake capacitors in the Xbox 360, or the Chinese facility where the console was manufactured in was using them and passing them off a genuine. Just thought I'd share...

Is it okay to flash stock bios onto the motherboard's BIOS?
                by AkaBukai
                Hi there,
                I have a 14" Lenovo Laptop (Flex 5 14ALC05) which has a boot issue.
The little LED on the power button is flashing slowly and nothing happen.
This unit do not have any BIOS button cell battery so I tried many times draining the power but it is still not powering on.

So I decided to flash the BIOS using a cheap programmer.
And I was successfully able to read the content (exactly 16MB file) which BTW is a WINBOND 74m12jwsiq (according to the package inscription - but detected as W25Q128FW in the software - IMSProg on Linux)

                I also...
