Re: panasonic fm failure in 5 minutes!

Yeah, it's a shame they didn't learn it sooner. They still have G-Luxons as the smallest caps, but those shouldn't be an issue. I believe bad caps should be a recall issue, but I know that'll never happen...

My video card was lucky, too. All Matsushita there. (Sapphire x1600Pro AGP)

My next power supply, if all goes well, will be an Antec. New and unused for $30, you get the idea...Well, I'd better start practicing recapping now, got an old Sparkle (Teapos throughout) I could try it on...Have to leech from a Newton Power (good caps but useless) though, also not a problem. Those and Astecs, both from old Gateways, seem to grow on trees here.

Yes, i know I should use new caps, and I will for important projects, don't worry!
You know there's something wrong when you open up a PSU and are glad to find Teapos.
Why I don't buy cheap cases!

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
      by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Dell u2311h 20000 seconds to black issue
      by ChIck3n
So I've had this monitor for probably a decade now, and it's finally starting to fail. Began with a little sporadic flickering, then eventually started going black (power LED stays blue, can still see image on screen with flashlight). A power on/off fixes it for a bit, but then it happens again. Once it got to the point I was dealing with this every few minutes, I opened it up and just replaced all the caps (minus the big one) on the power board with new Panasonic ones. All the old caps tested fine on an ESR meter, and this worked for 5 days. But the screen just went black again today, so...

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
      by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

      Panasonic PF50G20S blinking 13 times
      by CoinCoin88
      Hello there,

Google led me again to badcaps when trying to troubleshoot a dying Plasma that is sitting at my uncle's roughly 550 km from where I am. It's an old G20 from 2010 or so, that isn't being actively used so you can consider the panel "not too sollicitated".

Symptoms: TV starts, works for 5-10 minutes, then screen turns black and safety kicks in and spits a 13-blink code with the red LED. Once this code kicks in, the TV will not display any image anymore. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it again, it'll work then fail a few minutes later.

The TV does not turn on, the standby indicator is on. All voltages are present.
Emms is dead. Not readable, not detected.
      Replaced emmc.
