    Re: TAICON Capacitors?

oic. but somehow i am still a little worried about my current biostar socket 478 board. it is armed with HMs and KZGs on the VRMs. the rest of the board is armed with OST RLPs and the super-small RLGs without vents. 2 chemicon polymers are located near the AGP slot though.

currently using at silverstone ST400 psu, with 2x 12cm fans, 1 intake and 1 exhaust. the psu fan (also 12cm) also act as exhaust fan. cpu is a pentium 4 2.8GHz northwood.

not sure how long this system can last. but so far still so good.

Not to dredge up an old thread (mods you can kill my comment if you like) but I have 5 or 6 Netgear FSM7326P POE network switches with the 12mm x 8mm 6.3v 1000uf taicon caps that are green in color and every one is bulging.

          Re: TAICON Capacitors?

Had a bunch of ASRock K7VT4A+ Socket A boards (Via KT400 chipset).
all the 6.3V 1000uF caps were those ugly green Taicon HD's..

one of those boards was my own one from around 2004 or 2005.. got replaced by a P4 2.6GHz box because it became kinda unstable. i put it back in the box and forgot about it.

got a couple of those in for recapping and remembered that i had that very same board and went searching for it.
found it buried in the basement, opened the box and found every single one of those Taicons had popped..

i know that none of them was visibly bad back then (otherwise i would have had a clue why it was becoming unstable), so in conclusion, they must have all popped just from sitting around unused for years..

Does anyone have an OLD part numbering guide for Taicon capacitors? Old like from the nineties? I "think" they changed their part numbering system at some point. I have some parts from 2004 with an 18 digit part number which is the same part number guide I can find on their website now, so not what I'm looking for. I found an old datasheet online for the VX series but it doesn't give part # breakdowns. I think maybe they tried to use a similar Nichicon part # system at some point which is just confusing, as a TVX prefix in Taicon is radial lead while TVX in Nichicon is axial lead. I've looked online, hoping someone here has a copy laying around or knows where to find one. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
              by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Replacement caps for Samson Resolv studio monitor 65A Amp board.
              by black6host
              Good day!

I have a Samson Resolv studio monitor that has no sound output. I've opened it up and found two caps that are bulging on what I believe to be the power supply section of the amplifier board. The board is marked Resolv 65A AMP V1.2. The caps in question are YUSCON, 2200uF, 35V, 85C temp and have markings of RA(P) and are 16mm x 25.5mm tall. I've attached the schematic and the caps in question are C5 and C6. I'm assuming they are low esr caps. I've tested both caps and they test low uF, nowhere near 2200uF.

I'm going to replace the caps and I'll be the first...
