    Capxon KF replacement

    Hello,

I'm currently searching to replace capacitor to do my first recap for replacing 2 Capxon KF in a power supply for a LCD display (viewsonic vp930b)

I have search on Newark for similar specs.

Now I have found 2 possibilities with higher Ripple and lower impedance.

The two options I have found have the same specs and are available so I want to know if I should just chose randomly or if I have forgot to check something.... I don't really know the brand for capacitor so maybe one have a better reputation...

    Spec:
    In all case:
    -1000uF
    -16 v
    -105 C
    -Ripple at 105 C - 100 khz
    -Impedance at 20 C 100 khz
    -Size: 10*20

    Original capacitor:
    -Capxon KF
    -Ripple: 1350 mA
    -Impedance: 0,065 ohm

    option 1:
    -RubyCon ZL
    -Ripple: 1820 mA
    -Impedance: 0,023 ohm

    option 2:
    -Chemi-Con KZE
    -Ripple: 1820 mA
    -Impedance: 0,023 ohm

    Thanks,

That would be KZG/KZJ series, not KZE.

United Chemicon KZE and Rubycon ZL are equivalent. The Rubycons may be more expensive, but they are Rubycons after all... High quality stuff .

            Correct...
Nothing wrong with KZE and they are equivalent to ZL.
ZL are -supposedly- higher quality. No actual proof of that. Just opinion.
If I had to order either way I'd get ZL.
The black ZL look so much better than ugly green or brown KZE.
But, if I have some KZE handy I wouldn't order ZL instead.

Agreed. There is nothing wrong with KZE and I have used them in repairs before, but rubycon are a better regarded brand

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Acer Ferrari F-20" monitor display interference and replacement capacitor selection

                Good day everybody

I hope I'm posting in the right section - I am new to this awesome forum.

I have received an ACER Ferrari F-20" LCD Monitor to repair.

It produces interference lines on the image displayed and slowly rotates across the whole screen, with respect to the center of the screen. One rotation takes about 4 minutes and the cycle repeats over and over.
For some reason the On Screen Display Menu is not affected when switched on with the Menu button.

I opened the external 18V power supply and see no bulged capacitors...

Hello, I have this arcade power supply that I'd like to recap for maximum reliability and lifetime since I have found some Capxon and Jamicon capacitors:
                • Capxon GL 10x25 1000uf 16V Ripple: 1180 Impedance: 0.05ohm // Chemi-con KY 1000uf 16V Ripple: 1400 Impedance: 0.046ohm
                • Capxon GL 10x12.5 470uf 16V Ripple: 722 Impedance: 0.095ohm
                • Capxon GS 10x15 22uf 50V 85ÂșC Ripple: 100
                • Capxon KM 47uf 50V Ripple: 125
                • Jamicon TK 1uf 50V Ripple: 12
                • Jamicon TK 4.7uf 50V Ripple: 36

I have another PSU (same model) that uses Chemi-con KY instead of Capxon GL, and since Panasonic FC are very...

Looking for best replacements for Capxons, but can't find data sheets

Recapping the power supply board for a Samsung 305T monitor, everything is Capxon except 2 Rubycons. I can't find data sheets matching these online, so don't know what ripple numbers, impedence, etc, to look for. There are a few different looking GL series data sheet PDFs, but the listing that matches the capacitance and voltage is a much bigger case size. I've narrowed down selections with lead spacing and case diameter, and what's in stock at Digi-key

                Cyberpower 1500AVR UPS repair
                by quickname
I'd like to start out by thanking this forum for providing the info to be able to repair my 15 year old CP1500AVRLCD UPS. Here is all the info I gathered during my trouble-shooting and re-capping.

Like clockwork, I've had to replace the SLA batteries every 4 years. It was about that time and the UPS was acting like it needed new batteries... randomly shutting off with AC present, not being able to charge fully, and poor runtime when AC was removed. So, I replaced the batteries but noticed that it was not charging properly.

I decided to verify that the batteries were...

Is it no harm to replace with capacitor without ripple current rating?
                by chth96
When I tried to repair LG 29 inch CRT TV, I found that the ESR value of samyoung SMS capacitor(160v 2.2uf), which is very close to D1879 transistor, is 6 ohm.

Judging from above ESR Meter Table,I think It is necessary to replace this sms capacitor. So I visited local electronics shop, and I purchased 160v 2.2uf rubycon YK capacitor.
But when I browse through rubycon YK datasheet,I found that there is no ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf specification. But On the contrary, I found 39 mA ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf SMS capacitor.
                Rubycon YK DataSheet (b...
