Re: Spot welder capacitor blew up
i just got the ones in the link as i have no clue of a suitable replacement lol
they look the same have the same part number pme 261 jc and they seem to work. have you got a link to what you would you use? might change them in the future

Re: Spot welder capacitor blew up
The only way to get this board clean would be with soap and water.
I would not submerge things like the buzzer or relay though.
So best to use maybe a toothbrush and be quite liberal with it, but not submerge it fully...
You can then wash that off with the IPA and after drying it should look much betterLeave a comment:

Re: Spot welder capacitor blew up
I would not use Rifa/Kemet PME261's as replacements, the one you picked is ordinary PME261 "General Purpose AC/DC, Metallized Paper" and has no ratings for across the line use. Those are another part number PME271M or PME271E.
Rifa oddball sizes are the only LS=20.3mm parts, but I would stuff in a standard 22.5mm part which would fit.
The reason to worry about it is there is no fuse for these and they would totally destruct the board in fire.Leave a comment:

Re: Spot welder capacitor blew up
There is more info written on the side of the Rifa capacitors, the top just says 0.1uF. They're X caps I guess 300VAC or more.
You would need the lead spacing mm and voltage rating to find replacements.
For cleaning the board, I use a gentle toothbrush and a little compressed air- not too much which makes static electricity and damages things.
The welder has had a hard life, between the rust/water and dust.

Re: Spot welder capacitor blew up
Yay yet another RIFA thread!
Was really hoping not...but sounds like my Tektronix scopes need to get it's RIFAs swapped soon...
Sure hope the Kemet buyout made them better...Leave a comment:

Re: Spot welder capacitor blew up
this is the same as mine is it ok to use these? or is there a better equivalent?

Re: Spot welder capacitor blew up
Yea that is a Rifa capacitor, just replace all of them with the same values.
Just look for the safety rating of it and replace with the same or better Y or X class capacitor.Leave a comment:

Re: Spot welder capacitor blew up
no, dont risk it.
clean the board up and post pictures.
if a diode went short-circuit and hit the cap with AC that would do it - and do it to the replacement too!Leave a comment:

Spot welder capacitor blew up
Spot welder capacitor blew up should just replacing them fix it? The board is very dirty gonna remove it and clean it an see if I notice anything wrong that could cause this issue.

by sam_sam_samThis is a new item at Battery Hookup that I bought I have always wanted to buy a good capacitor battery stud welder but they are to expensive for my budget that I want to spend on one this was surprisingly moderate price for what it can
It came by FedEx today so I decided to try it out on some tabbing that my battery stud welder has a little issue making constantly welded with out having to redo some because it would not get hot enough to do it properly
Well right out the box when the super capacitor charges up with the setting as follows does a very good job the first... -
Hello everyone
I attach a schematic and teardown photos for the DoCreate DHJ567 handheld spot welder. I bought this welder for temporary use while my supercapacitor welder was waiting for replacement parts. It cost only £24, though there is a screenless version available for £17.
Performance: The absolute maximum it can handle appears to be 0.15mm of pure nickel. Reliability was not great - welds were very inconsistent, ranging from weak attachment to burning through the strip. However, I was able to build a 5S2P pack without losing any cells. It's a bit difficult getting... -
by sam_sam_samI keep having the same exact issue with these battery spot welder controller boards
They either do one of two things
One the controller does not send the signal for the transformer fire which is a very common problem with this controllers micro controller failure
Or
The controller has some malfunction which means that it does not cycle the pluses more than once or none at all and should do it any where from 1 pluse to 20 pluses because you can not change the setting does not respond to its input micro controller failure

by vionescuHi, last night my zotac 1070 mini blew off a capacitor. I've had a look and identified it to be C336 capacitor and maybe the R005 resistor. Does anyone have any idea what kind of replacement capacitor I need to get to fix it or any boardview schematics for the card?...

by chth96I replaced some capacitor which is located on optical pickup pcb which is shown in the table below(PCB #2).Because it have been out of order.
Now,It works very well,But I just have found that all caps (6svpc100my and other part number as well) ,which is shown in the table below, has ultra-high ripple current spec.
It is not able to obtain any capacitor which can be a substitute for this ultra-high ripple current nichicon capacitor.
So I replaced it with samxon and rubycon's general capacitor(GP,YXA series).
I know that these capacitor will not last as long as nichicon capacitor...-
