    Acer P193W

    Hi,

I bought this 19" monitor for cheap some time ago, and i'm trying to fix it.

Already bought a new ps board for it, and it gives me acer logo but doesn't detect any vga connection.. someone knows if it's fixable or if it need a new graphic board?

I'm also leaving here the service manual for this set, for anyone who needs it.

    Thanks for looking!

    Best regards

Already tried with 3 different computers, and i use all of them everyday with other monitors and projectors, so it's not a computer problem unfortunately

Both DVI and VGA ports do not detect the video signals?
You cab check all the signal pins on the VGA and DMI to see if the protection diodes are shorted out.
        For example the VGA pin 1, 2, 3, 9, 12, 13, 14 ,15.

Already tried and of the pins you told me to check, the pin1 is the only One that males contact with pins 4,6,7,8 and 11.

            Thanks!

                  Re: Acer P193W

That is not the correct testing, you want to test the Ground pin (pin 4, pin 11 ) against these signal pins:
                  4 to 1 =
                  4 to 2 =
                  4 to 3 =
                  4 to 13 =
                  4 to 14 =
and (in case pin 4 and pin 11 are not tied together inside the monitor)
                  11 to 1 =
                  11 to 2 =
                  11 to 3 =
                  11 to 13 =
                  11 to 14 =
Make sure to report the reading how it shows on your meter so we will know the correct resistance. I.E. Ohms, K Ohm, M Ohms.
We are basically looking to see if the signal pins are shorted to ground due to shorted out protection Diodes or not.

Sorry, i've just now noticed that it doesnt appear the ACER logo, i confused with some videos i've seen talking about issues.. what happens with mine is what i recorded on the following youtube video. I've just recorded it right now:

                    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa_HsmpdM28

thanks and once again sorry for misleading!

is this issue easier or harder to resolve?

On the video it is already connected to a computer that is producing image.

Can we get a good clear picture of the main board.

Please do the ohms test as Budm asked in earlier post.

Any chance that the main board could have been changed by anyone
and is not the original/correct one? what is the part no on it

Another thought - check the vga socket has continuity on each pin (hole)

One update, decided to take the bullet and also replaced the main board for a new one.

And it keeps the same symptoms :/

                              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa_HsmpdM28

Now i am really upset and disappointed

And one other thing, the first service manual i posted was wrong, this is the right one for the ACER P193W that i have, for the case someone needs it too.

Sorry for the late reply selldoor, but was waiting on the boards to arrive and replace them to answer you better and don't make you waste any time if that resolved!

The PSU board is a ilpi-031 and the mainboard is a ilif-046. Now they are both new, and didn't resolved the problem
