Samsung ln32a330j1dxza - faint white screen

Hello all, first time poster here. The screen is faint white and photo negative. I can see the OSD, but it is also faint. Apparently this is common with this model, as seen here:

    http://www.jkturner.net/samsung/index.html
    or here
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEfa-vjTeTI

I know that's a different model but it's the same problem. I also found this on another site:

"Video will intermittently turn mostly white. White display with a faint image of osd and video in the background. Video will intermittently turn mostly white with the osd barely visible in the background. Even a black image or when the panel should not be showing any video, it is white.i found that one of the sub-boards inside the panel, the boards that the ribbon cable from the t-con connect to, are not seated properly and the larger smd capacitors on the board are intermittently making contact with the metal frame of the set, effectively creating a short to ground. This is one of the panels that is mounted upside down, so the stand mounts just below and behind the panel frame. Any slight pressure from the stand can cause the frame to make contact. In many cases, the tv can be slightly flexed to make this issue occur."

I tried to check for shorts and didn't seem to find any, but I went ahead and temporarily insulated the metal frame just for testing, and there was no change. From what I've read in these forums it seems that it could be the tcon, or maybe the tcon isn't getting the right voltage? Can I eliminate the tcon as a suspect with having to buy one to test? I also read about a potentiometer on some models that may help. I think there might be one visible through the frame, but I'm not sure.

I've got a cursory knowledge of soldering, but I am eager to learn, so I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

Have you tried reseating the ribbon cables that connect to the tcon board?

Thanks for the reply. I reseated the ribbon cables and nothing changed.

Something weird happened though, I tried to adjust what assume is a potentiometer (visible through the metal frame), and when I grounded the screwdriver against the frame while in contact with the screw, the screen looked perfect for a few seconds before going back to white. Any ideas? I've tried to find a short to ground somewhere in the frame, but I'm not having any luck. I appreciate any help I can get!

Actually, I was just thinking, if the video corrects itself when I create that ground, does it mean that the board itself isn't grounded properly?

Can you post good clear pictures? You may want to tighten all the circuit board mounting screws also since the boards are usually grounded to the chassis by the mounting screws.
I do not see the pot in my pictures here:

Thanks for the help! I will double check all screws. I hope these pictures are decent. I don't have the service manual, so I don't know what the adjustment screw on the panel is for. I was just willing to try anything.

Well I just tightened all the screws and taped all the suspect areas where something could ground out, but it's still a white screen.

Hmm, if I remember right, that may be for GAMMA adjustment, not 100% sure. If you touch with wooden stick, do you get the same result?
Can you give me the LCD PANEL P/N as printed on the sticker so I can look for spec sheet?

Thanks for the help so far! You're probably right about the gamma, the colors look a little posterized now. I'll check on those other things, but in the mean time, I made a video. Please excuse the quality, it was on my phone. I may look strange jiggling the screwdriver around, but I'm just trying to ground it to the case.

I did not find anything in the LCD panel spec regarding to the trim pot, I still believe it is for GAMMA. Did you try turning with small screw driver?

                            replace the as15g.
very common issue with that tcon.
i did 2 this week alone.

I tried adjusting it with a screwdriver and from what I could see (on the white screen) it was affecting gamma. I'm glad that I marked its original spot!

Really? Where would I find one of those? I'm not that great with an iron but I'll give it a shot. Is the procedure the same as in this video? Thanks!

I see that there are a lot of them on ebay... This may be a dumb question, but do I need all matching numbers, or will any as15g work?

Hello everyone. I did not want to open another thread, since this one deals with the same type of TV I have at my house at the moment.

A family member brought me a Samsung LN32A330J1DXZA. I was told the screen all of the sudden, went into a blueish color, and trying to change channels, opening the menu or changing the source, the screen remains the same.

I have taken out the back panel, check the screws, checked the cables and checked caps and all seem to be fine. There is sound, but there is no picture.

I took pictures and a video of what the TV is doing.

                                      Problem:
