Re: Samsung ln32a330j1dxza - faint white screen

    Hello budm,

No I have not check the voltages yet. At the moment my dad has the voltmeter, but I will check them.

I took apart the TV this weekend and found out the problem is on the main board where the t-con cable connects. If I remove that cable and plug it in or kind twist it, and continue moving up up and down, the screen shows lines, but at some points it shows the weak signal or no signal message. I also took a video of it.

Please take a look at the picture:

    Video:

I will try to get the voltmeter today so I can check the voltages on the 3-pin ICs.

    Thanks

      Hello budm,

I took pictures of the voltage for the (2) 3-pin IC on the t-con.

      Pic 1:

      Pic 2:

      Is that good?

I cannot find any other issue, only the one I posted 2 posts before this one.

      Thanks

OK, you need to report the reading of all 3 pins of the regulator, looking at it with the big tab up, left pin is 1, the center pin (2) is the output pin, right pin (3) is the input pin.
We also need the numbers as printed on the ICs. You already try cleaning and re-seating that ribbon cable? It is kind of strange that you can actually get it to display NO SIGNAL on the screen.

          Hello budm,

Here are the readings for the (2) 3-pin connector:

I found out how to reset it to factory. I did press the exit button for 12 seconds, then press left, then enter. Sound is ok, its just the picture wont stay like shown in the video.

Thank you much for your help!

They are correct voltages, one is 2.5V regulator, another one is 3.3V regulator.

I had to samsungs with similar problems and if you wiggled the LVDS connector, the picture would clear up. Both had bad solder joints on the LVDS cable connector on the main board. A bad ribbon cable was a problem on an lg.

                Hello truep,

That's what is happening, if I move or remove and connect the t-con cable on the main board side, the screen comes on, but its a fraction of a second. I posted a video on the first page.

I'll use my heat gun. Its not working at the moment, so I do not have anything to lose.

                Will let you guys know...

                Thanks.

                  Hello everyone,

I believe I found the problem for the Samsung LN32A330J1DXZA TV I have at home. I decided to remove the main board and look at it. On the back side of the board, I noticed the dried liquid like when a capacitor explodes, so I grabbed my little eye magnifier and searched for bulge caps (I did search before, didn't see any). I saw two caps that to me look they did explode. Please take a look at the pictures:

                  I'll search digikey or mouser.

They are inductors (about 150 uHenry)with flux stain on them, looks like they are for Class D audio power amplifier output filters or part of switching buck regulators circuits.
Did you look real close at those pins of the connector to see they are soldered OK?

My dad has a microscope, so I will take the main board with me tomorrow to check those inductors. I will let you know tomorrow.

You should look at the solder connections of that ribbon cable that you can move and make the pictures come and go, I doubt that it has anything to do with those two inductors.

                          budm,

I took the main board to my dad's job to use a microscope to look at those inductors, and like you said, they are fine. I checked for continuity and they gave some readings. I also checked the cable, and it looks fine.

I called Little Electronic Shop in Orlando, FL that someone had recommended me, and the guy told me that that he believes the problem is with the t-con board, probably the "matrix IC'.

I do not know what the "Matrix IC" is, but I guess it will be the AS15-G chip.

                          Does that make sense?

Is the AS15-G also called "Matrix IC"?

                          Thanks

Bad AS15 will cause the screen to look like this:
                            https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...261#post421261
Or washed out screen as shown at the beginning of the thread.

AS15 is the Gamma ref voltage IC.

Thanks to badcaps forum I was able to minimize the problem and I ordered (5) AS15-G chips directly from china since no local store had one available (that's what I was told when I made phone calls).

It was indeed the AS15-G chip on the t-con board that was bad on ln32a330j1dxza. Once I replaced it with one of the new ones, connected the cable, and I had a screen, I pulled up the menu and I knew it was fixed

                                    Hey budm,

I did not see this post at that time, but I traced the eBay seller who I purchased the AS15-G from.

                                    Hope this helps!

Here is another eBay seller who cells the AS15-G (monitor-09) chip.

                                      Good luck

Hi, guys. All things here are very useful. Just wanna ask about those IC. Is there any difference between AS15, AS15-F, AS15-G, AS15-HF, AS15-HG or AS15-U? Can they be mixed when you put them on the board or the letters in the end has to be exactly as on replacement chip? Thank you for the answers.

                                          Electrically they are the same.
'H' is exposed pad which has metal pad on the bottom of the IC that will be soldered to the copper pad under the IC to get better heat transfer.

                                            Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...
