The supply in question is an unused/"NOS" Antec EA-500 "80-Plus" (not the "Bronze") with Seasonic's early "500W" S12II board. While I don't yet have this supply in hand, I fully expect it to be filled with OST RLS and RLX. I plan to replace these with FR/FS Panos (mostly).
Of course, I also plan on replacing the big kahuna on the primary side. To that end, I'm currently holding a pageant to determine who'll wear the tiara. Here are the four finalists:

So I disappeared from working on electronics for quite some time. I'm unboxing my ancient projects and want to resume some of them. Unfortunately, my knowledge is a little rusty.
I've always liked to do full recaps on power supplies. My cap supply isn't perfect and I do not have any more 0.47uF 50V caps. I do have some ceramic caps with that value. Can they replace the lytic without issues? If I remember correctly, their max voltage drops rapidly after getting hot. Is that correct? If this isn't a good idea, I doubt the cap will cause any problems. It's by the main controller/exhaust... -

i'm very happy to have find to forum and recaps with some succes my ibm netvista 6578 motherboard. After a long don't working this PC is coming back to life after i change 1200 uF and 1500 uF caps. But now i have some stability problem with it. PC froze when installing OS. I suspect integrated video card to be faulty. Does anyone have similar problem after recaps only le biggest caps ? Maybe i will need to recaps other capacitor ! Some comments ?

I have epox 8RDA ... many badcaps ...major caps is GSC. few Teapo and Sulycon??.. i want try to recaps... coz my system restart frequently..

Finally got around to doing the two Startech PSUs that I have here that had bad caps. The ATXPOWER300 had 4 dead Fulltec 2200uf 10v caps, and the ATXPOWER250 had 1 dead SC (or CS?) 2200uf 10v cap. Both recaps went fine and everything works great. Here's the pics of the dead caps:...
