by em132The supply in question is an unused/"NOS" Antec EA-500 "80-Plus" (not the "Bronze") with Seasonic's early "500W" S12II board. While I don't yet have this supply in hand, I fully expect it to be filled with OST RLS and RLX. I plan to replace these with FR/FS Panos (mostly).
Of course, I also plan on replacing the big kahuna on the primary side. To that end, I'm currently holding a pageant to determine who'll wear the tiara. Here are the four finalists:

by Pentium4So I disappeared from working on electronics for quite some time. I'm unboxing my ancient projects and want to resume some of them. Unfortunately, my knowledge is a little rusty.
I've always liked to do full recaps on power supplies. My cap supply isn't perfect and I do not have any more 0.47uF 50V caps. I do have some ceramic caps with that value. Can they replace the lytic without issues? If I remember correctly, their max voltage drops rapidly after getting hot. Is that correct? If this isn't a good idea, I doubt the cap will cause any problems. It's by the main controller/exhaust...-

i'm very happy to have find to forum and recaps with some succes my ibm netvista 6578 motherboard. After a long don't working this PC is coming back to life after i change 1200 uF and 1500 uF caps. But now i have some stability problem with it. PC froze when installing OS. I suspect integrated video card to be faulty. Does anyone have similar problem after recaps only le biggest caps ? Maybe i will need to recaps other capacitor ! Some comments ?

by momakaI guess I might as well keep the motherboard recap threads on a roll. I have done quite a few recaps over the years, taken pics with intention to posting them, and then never did. So now is the time, I suppose. Like I said, I hope to revive the motherboard forums a little bit with these recaps.
