Really been into video games my whole life so I've
Been repairing all my old consoles from game gears to Sega cds. Now I'm onto fixing my old plasma TV :-D

                              Hi everyone,

I was going to use 2manythingsbreak as a handle but shortened it to 2many. Electronics was a hobby growing up and I have a EE degree so not afraid to rip into any electrical/ electronics stuff. I own a few DVM's, Tektronix oscilloscope (old digital/analog storage) that's about it. My under 3 year old Toshiba 50" LED just broke, has sound but a dark picture (no backlight). I have zero experience with LCD TV's and could use some help. I saw a video on youtube troubleshooting a TV which gave a shoutout to this site so here I am. I'll post a new thread on the problem once I get posting privileges.

I've got 15 years of HT/PC hobby background and I just have started to get serious about TV repair in the last 3 or 4 years. I've repaired and diagnosed about 150 TVs in that time.

                                      Hi
I have worked in the electrical electronic sector for a while, recently working as a physics tech in a high school, (now retired), previously worked with disabled adults managing their IT and technical needs, AAC support, switch access for computers, etc. Service engineer for a manufacturer of scientific instruments and other stuff

What prompted me to this site? Well My Panasonic TH-37PX80BA Plasma TV has the 7 blinks of death.........I have disconnected the SM board, and still have 7 blinks, disconnected the SC board (and SM) and it doesn't blink. Disconnect SM, and power cable to sc board and leave ribbon connected and 7 blinks. So unable to source another board I am looking for info to assess if I can repair it.

So........off to have a search of the site.
