Sony KDL-55EX720 5/7 Flash Error
Hi, so this is where I am currently at on my Sony KDL-55EX720.
My TV was struck by lightning (on a surge protector) but still got hit.
So this is what I have troubleshooted and where I currently am at.
TV won't come on, and am getting a 7 blink error code. This is typically indicative of a bad main board (BATV board per sonys service manual). So i ordered a replacement and swapped it out and now I have a 5 blink error code so I am assuming the main board was bad. I put the old one back in at still 7 blinks.
5 blinks per sony's repair/service...

Re: UN55ES6500FXZA (TS01) Horizontal lines/Double Image
I will try both the youtube video suggestion and removing the ribbon cable on each side of the t-con. can you point me to the other thread that the guy fixed it? just want to see what specifically was successful for them. thanks.

UN55ES6500FXZA (TS01) Horizontal lines/Double Image
So let me fill you in on what I have done so far, and where I am at. I have a basic understanding a TV repair. Checking voltages and what not. Majority of my skillset is in just replacement of boards, not physically soldering on new ICs or anything.
I have a UN55ES6500FXZA that is giving me weird picture issues. After seeing enough issues I think I have it narrowed down to a bad T-CON,LVDS, or "bad panel".
I first ordered a used T-CON for my TV. The used T-CON was pulled from a UN55ES6580FXZA with a cracked screen. The part numbers matched and it was BN95-00579B....
