Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Good Morning
I am Rockhd,
A forced retirement Surface level Electronic repair Tech.
In St. Louis, MO. I was known as the Dog killer. A challenging repair keeps things interesting. I repair anything from Corvette Dashboards to Electronic Golf Ball washers. Learning something new every day keeps us young.
I started by sticking screw drivers in AC sockets ? Go figure my Dad started teaching me the wonders of electronic. Yes im a second generation tech in our family tree. Dad was US Navy Communication specialist DE-8. WW2 and was electronics instructor during Korean conflict.
I started Radio and TV repair in 1974, Might say I know my way around 6L6's and Schottkey barrier rectifiers.
In the early years I attended RCA TV Training,Also Factory trained LG Tech.
Many learning curves in the time periods. From Amplitude Modulation to Horizontal and Vertical frequency to Dot Pixels. receiving tubes to LED. DOS and bulletin board services to Windows. Im in charge of keeping electrons in their place and I like it like that, Computers were a hobby, now a necessity for the repair industry.
Looking forward to the community here at Bad Caps. I will do what I can to resolve issues in my preferred field of TV repair. Also rework Laptops and PC motherboards, I can entertain repair questions there also. Hardware and software. I have a good library of tech software, Good help is hard to find.
Grandpa once said ( If ya dont use your head ya might as well had feet on both ends). Farm Humor ! I get it ....
Im having a little trouble navigating your system but i'll get it in my head .
There are Very intelligent Techs hanging around here! I am impressed with many of the posts I have read. That says volumes about the Management!

Hi Peeps,
I have a LCD TV that just went dead, i suspect something simple like bad caps. I have replaced bad caps in various tvs and monitors over the years so soldering holds no fear for me.
Will strip the back off and post some pics and hope someone can help me out!
