  • Re: Samsung UN46D6000SFXZA Standby Light Flashing

I just wanted to post a quick follow up for anyone that owns this model and is experiencing the same issue with similar test results. I replaced the power supply board and the TV powered up and is working without any issues.

I just tried unplugging the cable from the mainboard to the power supply and the clicking becomes constant. The voltage is now continuously bouncing between 3.3v and 3.8v on pin 4. If I reconnect the cable it returns to a cycle of 5 clicks and the voltage returns to 0.1v constant with a 3.1v spike while its clicking.

Do you think that repair kit would fix this particular problem or should I just go for a new power supply board?

I took some photos with the back panel off and got in for a close shot on each board. I can take more zoomed in shots if they are needed.

The connector I am testing is designated CN201. In The file I hyperlinked there is a "Power-Up Sequence" section on page 2. it lists the following for connector CN201

    Power-Up Sequence (CN201):
    1.Standby Voltage: Pin 4 (5Vdc)
    2.Power-ON:Pin 2 (Low-Hi voltage transition)
    3.Low Voltages:Pin 1, 3, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13
    4.Backlight On:Pin...

  • Samsung UN46D6000SFXZA Standby Light Flashing

I picked up a Samsung UN46D6000SFXZA recently, I did so knowing it didn't work and needed to be diagnosed and repaired.

When the TV is plugged in the standby light does a double flash 5 times then goes solid for a few seconds and the cycle repeats. If I put my ear close to the power supply board I can hear what sounds like 5 clicks. The clicks happen while the standby light is solid red and the clicking stops while the light is flashing.
I did a bit of research and have taken the TV apart and performed some of the tests in this document.
