Hello everyone, I've started doing small repairs for a bit now but this one is new for me, I have a TV with a weird coloration, I looked in the color setting of the tv but had no luck, can anyone tell me what going on in here and give me a little explanation just for me to understand what's going on for the next time it happens

by reessiHello,
My friend asked me to replace the wire going from this SMPS 20v adapter to the charger for a 18v Lithium Battery for a drill.
The cable had frayed and been touching, as a result the 5 Paralleled R200 (0.2 ohm) resistors had blown O/C, they are connecting the main -ve rail to the output wire.
The output was jumping around 13v and dis-appeared when a load like the charger was connected, they measured 900ohms.
I experimented by replacing at first a single 0 ohm and then a 2.2ohm in and the output was restored at 21.62v and 21.65v respectively... -
by reassorI think i have gone crazy.
No obvious damage on board.
Ammeter shows 20v and around 300-400mA for just a sec then goes down to 20mA
When i check cpu coils with voltometer set to remeber max it shows around 0.95v on all 3 phases.
PPBUS_G3H is constatnt 13V
Charging works when battery connected.
Now wierd thing. When you let the board drain it shows some caps SHORTED on PPBUS_G3H but after 2-3 sec they jump to high values even in diode mode.
Have i gone stupid and it should not act like that?

by AdenitzHello,
I'm reading an article about the "capacitor plaque" in early 2000s and I have found one sentence I cannot understand.
The normal lifespan of a non-solid electrolytic capacitor of consumer quality, typically rated at 2000 h/85 °C and operating at 40 °C, is roughly 6 years. It can be more than 10 years for a 1000 h/105 °C capacitor operating at 40 °C.
What this 2000h or 1000h means? Why 1000h capacitors have longer life span?-

by Kiks412Hey guys, I have this Video Projector that turns on, takes a bit to give some image, and when it does it displays a weird static image, and has no reaction to on-device buttons or remote whatsoever, even to turn off, only unplugging from the outlet. I'm new to this kind of device so I will be very happy to get some help with this....12-20-2022, 10:00 AM

by myth77In my history of repairing laptops as a hobby i have found several boards that had either dead pch or ite or.... and after i replaced it i get to the point of having every single voltage except +vcc (core cpu). On cpu PWM CONTROLLER i had +5v, ALL_SYSTEM_PWRGD... every one except svidalert. it would be low in voltage and active. The resistance on vcore was always fine.. but svidalert was on. SVID_CLK AND SVID_DATA are always fine.
According to the datasheets of the controller "SVID ALERT# is pulled low by the controller to alert the CPU of new VR/12/12.5 Status". Can someone explain... - Loading...
