White Screen with Lines. Advice needed

    Pilot PD43S9HE 43" FHD Smart.
    Main : HK.T.RT2842P639
    T-con : Nemu N2TP430FHDLV1D_A1
    Panel : CC430LV1D

    I attach photos of :
    0. The hardware , except the distribution board ( I'll create full view)
    1. The problem : White screen with horizontal lines ( no Vertical lines ! )
    2. Disconnection of one of two FLEX from T-con to Panel boards ( in the next post)
    3. Taping 0.5cm first tracks of the Flex i.e 4 times ( in the next post)
    Photos include descriptor.

    Haven't measured anything yet.

I'd like to read Opinions and Advice

Good job with the posts. Try this, with multimeter locate the pin connected to test point LS_STV on the left connector from the rear of tcon, then mask only that, if the job is succesful you can try to perfect the job removing that and masking only one at time those referred to CLK test points. bye..

PS: my supposition is that both sides are been hit by the extra tension and so the screen is not fixable..

        You're The Master

I'm exited , I didn't check beyond the Menu activity forhorizotal lines

        1. What do you mean by "masking only one at time those referred to CLK test points. " Please check the T-con image , I marked with red circle .

        2. Obviously , the TV got hit hard on the bottom Left : Is there a way to reduce the brightness of "the wound" ?

          :-(((((
How do you have obtained this near good picture? With no STV?
By the particular shot i see unfortunately there's a small crack and this is obviously not fixable, you will not obtain much by the sale of this.. sorry..
It worths no further research on clock lines.. bye..

There might be Very Faint lines , but not visible with an image. I need to investigate closer
There is obviously a white Hue around where the physical damage is, It might also be that the Image properties are not set correct , but if not the above : What do you think ?

What did you mean " further research on clock lines. " ? I mean to do what , Tape certain CLK line instead of LS_STV ?

I told you, I don't do it for money. I'm more like Hardware Veterinarian
I want to understand T-con Panel workings , this is very different from common "repairing a TV" .
Also, I think that with a little improvement of the image there will be someone who will take it for 20% of Used. perhaps as security cams monitor

No, sorry, in this case you have no improvements blocking single clock CLK lines, there isn't any bad setting, the crack in the screen glass drains the liquid crystals in that area so the white light passes through..

is it clear the screen is cracked? whatch that half circle blotch..

First, the good quality image is my desktop. And I worry a bit that the whole TV image is affected by the damage ?

There is clearly a dark half-circle at the center of the whiteness.
Can you explain a bit about LS_STV and clocks ? ( you meant to tape the CLK lines one by one, yes ?)
I will do the CLK , no problem, but I need confirmation about taping their lines .

You know what I am thinking ? What if I tape , say Kapton , right behind the area , underside of the Panel ... interesting , it will be somewhat dimmer

Re: White Screen with Lines. Advice needed

clk testpoint refers to clock lines, in an integer screen is better to find the single clock line to be madked, but here is unuseful. Covering screen with tape? Are you joking? nooooo!

Re: White Screen with Lines. Advice needed

I am trying masking the CLK line anyway.
                    #4 is not good , and I ask : do I keep the SL_STV masked ?

I meant taping on underside, because you said the Backlight is shining through.

Re: White Screen with Lines. Advice needed

if clk are masked stv must not be masked

Re: White Screen with Lines. Advice needed

I did not get good results.
At first I tried with STV not masked , than masked

I will probably repeat the test tomorrow , because there was something unusual with CLK #4 & its Pin .
Can you explain a bit on the relationship of STV and CLK ?

Re: White Screen with Lines. Advice needed

Forgot to say that if single clk lines doesn't go well then there are more clock lines affected, i have told to you, in this case the trick doesn't work because screen is heavily damaged, stv blocks all side of gate drivers, clk lines controls only a portion of the side, if the clk are 4, the side is divided in 4 groups.. the less you block the better..

So the best way is to start with all 4 CLK lines, which is the same as blocking STV, no ?
Than remove one by one , because it makes sense that one or two CLK are involved with the area of the damage ( bottom right corner )

Re: White Screen with Lines. Advice needed

All CLK lines produced white screen
I'm using now the STV line.

The guy who gave me will probably sell it for Security Cam screen , its a 43" smart TV and will service quite a few cams.

                                Thanks !

                                  Davi.P :

                                  TV returned. Image issues.
Looks like the original STB issue is spilling to other V lines. Beyond my capability.

Since video is needed and can't be uploaded here,
I recorded 3:30 minutes from ON press.
Since middle 2 minutes is repetitive/no change I skipped this part and created 2 videos, Total time of 1:15 .

                                  Uploaded to MEGA folder :

Photos of the taping result are in previous message.

Bad news for you, i have watched the video, that is because a crack can't remain there the same always but it runs especially with every movement you make to it, the picture shows a losing of vgl line that produces the smear of colors, and also lines are sign o contact disturbation, sorry this screen is at the end.. bye..

                                      Thanks !

You are saying that the damage to the screen is not static, and so we see more damage like bright dots at the screen edge, VGL damage spreading, lines etc.

I am really happy with this experience, learned stuff !

So the lesson is: never sell a cracked screen tv.. or sell it for parts with no return..
