Re: LG 43UM6910PUA backlight on, but no picture

This thread helped me fix a LG LG 43UM7000PLA with the same fault. I have attached pics in case it can help someone else...

I got a perfect picture blocking the first 13 pins on the RIGHT LVDS cable.

Please note the cable is labelled LEFT as the LCD is mounted upside down in the chassis.

BLocking just the shorted pin which was 12 or 13 I think brought back the image but it was unstable at times with different results.

Only blocking all 13 could I get a perfect picture.

    Many thanks.

Re: LG 43UM6910PUA backlight on, but no picture

Can anyone speak to which pins (or the minimum number) on a LVDS cable are absolutely vital to getting any picture at all?

If I didn't see it I wouldn't believe it!!! Used the 13pin taping on a 43um7000pla and everything went back to normal. I don't understand which signals are blocked but this seems of minor importance... Thanks for the assistance

I have the same problem, I managed to get a picture by blocking 4 or 5 pins, but the problem reappears after a week, do you think I should isolate more pins or what else could cause this?

I have this model tv. Great tv with an amazing picture. I think I've had it for under 2 years now and it just died on me. Sounds like the same symptoms here.

Tv turns on, no picture but backlight is obviously on, sound, and I can actually switch between HDMI sources.

I joined up because I am going to try and fix it. Hopefully the tape trick well work. I just need the time, space, and energy to give it a try.

I wanted to add some things and I can't seem to edit my post.

1 It's possible that my tv was displaying signs of an impending hardware issue for the last year or so but I just chalked it up to electronics being slow sometimes.

There was a few occasions where I would turn on the TV and it would take like a minute to get a picture whereas it normally came on pretty quickly.

Un70nu6900 taped lvds, how to fix washed out 1/2 picture?
                          by mecha1166
I am getting these 70 inch Samsungs daily. Dead set light comes on goes off, dark screen. Tried taping the problem lvds cable pins 13 to ? pin, used about 9 mm scotch tape. Picture comes on, no distortion lines, looks good, but 1/2 of screen is washed out. Problem seems to always be the last little strip on the bottom. Has anyone found what is actually the problem? Possibly one of three diodes there? I have a pic but it is washed out on 1/2. Anyony had success in fully restoring the picture? Thanks.

Hello, this is my first post and im just a beginner, so be easy on me guy. thanks

i have a LED chandeilier that switches colors from white to cool white to warm when toggling the switch, it has 24 LED arms, each arm is 30 CM length.

i have no datasheet at all for the LED lights, all i have is its length.

long story short, testing the chandelier on the ground, and it works fine for 1 - 2 - 6 hours, no problem.

as soon as i fix the chandelier to the ceiling and bury the driver inside the hub,...

Samsung UN70NU6070F Standby Light flashes twice
                          by Nicktronic
                          Hey Everyone,

So I've got this Samsung and the reported issue is that when powered on the backlight comes on, but no picture, no sound, it will flicker, the standby light will flash red twice and repeat the whole process...each loop lasts about 15 seconds.

I've googled the issue and understand it is likely a panel/driver board issue, but was hoping the "tape method" could be successful. Before I did that though, I disconnected the left LVDS cable and powered the TV on. This time I got sound, no picture and the two blink standby light stopped. Did the same...

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)

Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

                          Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

                          First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
                          by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

                          Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...
