    Element FLX3220F Odd video problem

    Hi,

This tv was a $30 Craigslist deal. The problem was a shorted diode on the power supply board. It works great on the following input sources.

    HDMI
Antenna input - local DTV broadcasts
Antenna input - Channel 3 output from Dish Network receiver

I have not checked the composite inputs.

The problem is that when connected to a Comcast cable box (I've tried several different boxes), initially it works fine. If you change the channel on the cable box, the first time you change it the picture is ok. Next time you change the channel there is a horizontal black bar that takes up about 1/3 of the screen. The bar starts about 12" down from the top. There is video above and below the bar. This is not an HD cable box.
Turning the set off and on makes the picture ok. Unscrewing the cable connection and reconnecting also makes the picture ok. Could it be bad surface mount caps on the video / processor board?
There are no menu settings that are related to this problem that I could find.
Anyone seen this before? Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Mike

That would be my guess. Many cable (and satellite, and OTA broadcasters) have quixotic ideas about what format information should accompany their signals. The fact that it can properly receive OTA digital signals tells me it's probably related to the signal it receives, not an internal problem.

Re: Element FLX3220F Odd video problem - SOLVED!!!

        Hi again,

I ended up calling the customer service 800 number (800 827-0036) and got a helpful young lady. Turns out the tv was made by Funai and both she and her supervisor suspected the cable box. Anyhow, I asked where you could obtain the owner's manual - it is a free download at www.funaiservice.com
In the troubleshooting section of the manual it mentioned a black screen would result if the "Text" mode was turned on in the close caption menu.
I checked - it was set to "Text 1". I turned that option off and checked again on the Comcast box - the black bar was gone!
        Thanks to all that responded.

        Mike

Help on Video Problem on Dell Inspiron 7459

Hi, I'll tell you the story of this PC.
The PC was repaired because it had a shorted power supply. What happened was that the plastic covering the buffer battery positioned by the manufacturer on the capacitor melted, thus generating a short.
After the repair, the PC worked, I installed Windows 11 and I may have had some problems with the video drivers, but after a bit of tinkering I think I solved them.
However, the PC later presented the problem in the video shared very frequently.

The problem also occurs at startup, in the bios and when using it as a monitor thanks...

Grundig GV-250 Repair problem. (Video inside post)
          by hugocarmo
          Hi everyone.
          I have the following problem.
I have a Grundig GV-250 VCR which has not been used for over 10 years. When I turned it on, the fuse of the PSU burned out, after being replaced it burned again, I ended up verifying that I had the bridge rectifier and the mosfet in short, I ended up replacing it, and I replaced all the electrolytics of the PSU. However, it started to behave strangely, as I will show you in the video that I will attach as a link.
In short, I ended up replacing all the ICs on the power supply CNY17G, TDA4605, TL431, TDA8137, TL082CP, AN3824K, L2720,...
