Hoping someone can help out with a couple of issues, possibly related.
TV initially had a backlight fault (10 strips, 5 lamps per strip), only one bad led. Replaced with a brand new complete set, so now working!
No remote but found a Toshiba remote that at least does basic volume +/-, channel +/-, mute. Powers tv off but will not turn it on from standby?
I have a cheap usb wifi dongle remote that functions as an air mouse to operate through the menus etc...
I can install apps like youtube but will either lock up (power off tv to exit) or playback really laggy, buffers for ages just for 2 secs of sound.
Makes no difference whether connected wirelessly or via LAN cable.
Firmware is latest according to Network upgrade.
Its currently on FW: VOS-04.14.030.02.05
Needs directory to be named 'TV OS', and file name 'update_signed.zip'.
Unable to access service menu to do a reset or view available settings but does have an option to reset to factory in the user menu but has no effect correcting the above.
Youtube via browser works ok but not via the app.
It pops up 'Update Google play services' but update does not appear to be available.
Any ideas other than just replace the main board. Or could it be android ver.6 is just so outdated it can't handle
it anymore?
