I had been using wave audio files to play via the headphone jack to an ir led but had difficulty getting the InStop file to light the led, no sign of life when viewing the led through the camera app on my mobile phone.
Anyway, came across this free android app called IR Wave Plus that can utilise a homemade audio jack to ir led lead.
Not limited to just LG either!
A few settings require adjustment but the app itself is rather straightforward.
In settings ensure the slider bar is set to maximum and Force volume to 100% for audio ir blaster is ticked.
You can add a remote of your choice from a list and use without any further changes or if you want to change/add codes of your choice simply export the .irplus file extension file, rename it to a .txt file, edit the file in an editor of your choice, save the file then rename the .txt back to .irplus and import back into the selected remote. Found this very useful as the lg service remote only had service_m, instart and ezadjust so found pronto code for instop and added to the file in the same file format as the existing.
Of course, just buying an LG service remote is cheap enough and easier to use but will only be limited to Lg brand, have one on order from Aliexpress for about £3 so shall see how it performs.
