Re: 55" Element tv turns on, no picture

So I'm just starting to study the schematic. Can't really make heads or tails of it but I'm not giving up yet. One thing I did notice is, when the tv is turned on, the right chip gets hot to the touch but the left one stays cold. Not sure if that is a simple sign for anything.

What is the number of the other chip?
Try checking for vin_12 pins on schematic. They may have same pin out.

I'll check that other chip tonight and try to get some numbers. It's very hard to read as the characters are very faded

This is the right chip. I was able to clean it.

Well I might be at my wits end here. As I was probing, I think I crossed a couple of spots I shouldn't have. All of a sudden the tv shut off. Now it won't power on unless the panel driver ribbon cable is unplugged. Ugh

              Check your fuse marked Z

Ok will do. Where is that fuse located? I'm not seeing a fuse symbol on the schematic

I did some looking back through the pics. I'm assuming this is the fuse. Will check it tonight

Here's another question...On the legend, there's a test point that says VIN1 12v, but on the other side of the fuse it says 32v? Am I reading this right?

Is there supposed to be 12v on one side and 32v on the other?

This is the fuse rating for 32V and 5A.

Fuse looks good. It does have a reading of 190 ohms to ground though. Not sure if that's normal. That was tested with the ribbon cable unplugged and a ground point on the board

I can't check for 12 because the tv will only turn on with that ribbon cable unplugged

ok, easy test, test the little caps on the panel driver board, test for a short, diode mode, neg probe on ground, usually the gold looking part on the end of board with a hole there, pos probe on each side of capacitor, doesn't matter which probe goes to ground in his case, one side should continuous beep or read close to 000, other side should not beep or have a reading maybe 655 or something far from 000, if you find a short, it may be only one cap or it may be something else making it read short. Can also test for very low ohms in ohm mode, these tests done with tv UNPLUGGED, in case someones looking on who might not know.

I'm not seeing any caps directly shorted out but there are a lot that read 150ohms on the positive side.

ok, maybe the thing to do is run the powerboard as stand alone to see if the voltages are what they should be and to see if the backlights come on and stay on.

not exactly sure what all needs to be jumped, could try jumping ps-on with standby pin, that's with the cable unhooked of course. Some use resistors for safety in case they make a mistake in connecting.

                                            Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).

                                            🧩 Problem Summary:
                                            • The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
                                            • I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
                                            • The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.

Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?

I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
                                            by Asraf Atb
                                            Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....
