Bought this tv for a fixer upper. The tv and backlights turn on but nothing is displayed on the screen. This model does not have a separate tcon board. It has a ribbon cable which goes from the main board to the buffer board attached to the bottom of the panel. Since the power supply tests good, it's gotta be the main board right? I tried three different main boards with no change. I do get voltage at some test points on the buffer board but I'm at a loss of what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 55" Element tv turns on, no picture
if you have 2 ribbon cables going to the panel driver board, try disconnecting one at a time then power up and check display, then do the other side, ALWAYS connect and disconnect cables with tv unplugged to avoid any errant power surges. -
Re: 55" Element tv turns on, no picture
You are correct board swapping is not an option. Your only choice is board level troubleshooting and replacement of component. So checking voltages is first step. 12v input, hvadd, vcc, avdd etc. Your second most important picture is to blurry to read.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

What is part # on left chip? With power off and in continuity or diode mode read across the little brown capacitors around the 2 chips on the left.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

Re: 55" Element tv turns on, no picture
The group of 4 circled capacitors(pic) measured .45v, but when switching the test leads, they measured 0v. The single circled capacitor(pic) measured 0v, with test leads both ways. The rest of the caps ranged from .1v - 1.8v. All were tested in diode mode.Comment

Those 2 chips don't have the same numbers, do they? You are missing voltages from your dc to dc chip. Not sure which one it is. Not finding any info on the rt6939. I would think one would be gamma chip, but don't see any gamma points.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

Closest I could find is this chip schematic, which looks similar to yours. I would look for HVIN12v around the chip. Check for shorts on points with no voltage. If you have voltage going to ic and no shorts I would replace RT6939

by ygorsanHi everyone,
Iām looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).
š§© Problem Summary:- The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
- I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
- The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.

by jb_BakHey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.
Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board

Pin 02 NC
Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
Pin 04 "N/C"

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -
by cheeky2I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection... -
by Asraf AtbHi everyone,
Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.
Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.
I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....1 Photo - Loading...
