Panasonic P50S30 SC board pins 1-3 Short

I'm aware pin 3 is ground, but pin 1 is shorted to pin 3 even when not mounted to the machine. It's happening on the original board as well as the ordered replacement board. TV is giving 14 blinks. I'm trying to troubleshoot the machine and thought I'd figured it out when I found a pin that wasn't labeled as ground (Pin 1) shorted to ground, but now I'm just trying to verify if I have two boards with the same fault or if that's how the board is designed and I'm looking in the wrong area.

Pin 1-3 of what? What connector are you referring to?

This TV has common failure of SC board. I implore you to search this model TC-P50S30 as well as others such as TC-P50ST30 and TC-P50G30 and TC-P50GT30 as these solutions have been posted many times.

I have no doubt your solution will be to test ALL the IGBTs, specifically [Q401, Q402, Q403], [Q421, Q422, Q423], [Q621, Q622, Q623]. Don't worry about the diodes marked with a "D". They are almost never the problem.

I placed each parallel set of 3 in brackets [].

Remove one at a time with simultaneous heat from bottom of board, and direct solder, or hot air from top.

In any TV I have repaired, I usually replace 6 IGBTs. Sometimes the 7.5ohm gate resistors (small green resistors on each IGBT gate) may be bad, but most often they are ok.

Good point, I didn't clarify and I appreciate you calling me out on it. On SC board connector from main power, indicated by the white connector on the right hand side of the attached image, as indicated by the poorly drawn red circle. The only two pins on the connector are pin 1 and pin 3. I'll look into the areas you suggested in the meantime if I'm able to locate them. I only have an old solder gun at the moment as far as a way to heat up connections, so hopefully that won't be too rough on the board.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
        by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

        MacBook Air A2337 - 820-02016 - Stuck at 5v - Varying current draw - Board had short
        by duwane
        Hi All.

I have an 820-02016 board (A2337 M1) that has come in for data recovery. Reported as liquid damage, but no visible evidence of any liquid damage.

Board was initially stuck at 5v, and current only spiking occasionally to around 400mA and cycling.

After initial troubleshooting, found that C7800 (which feeds the power rail PP5V_BSTLQ_VOUT_SPMU) was dead short to ground.

Replaced C7800 and short gone. Board still stuck at 5v. Current draw behaviour changed. It now spikes up for a second to around 100mA to 130mA, then drops down to...

        Hi everyone,

Symptom: When I press the power button the power LED lights up for a second and the fan etc spins for a second then the unit turns itself off and will not do the same thing again unless I unplug the power cable for a few minutes then plug it back in otherwise if I just turn the power switch off and back on right after it comes on for a second it will not come on again unless like I said unplug the power cord for a few minutes then plug it back in.

What I have done to try to isolate the issue so far:

The system powers on and stays on with...

        Hi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several...
