Got this on the curb and tv works but backlights won't turn on.Problem is burnt out leds in backlight strips .I want to replace them but can't get screen out from housing. There is no front frame to hold screen in and it appears to be fastened with some sort of adhesive.Has anyone run into this before and if so are these screens removable.

Re: Bolva s50u18
I got about 10 in. of the lcd separated then as I expected it began to crack.I had to use a fair amount of heat ,pressure just to get the lcd to begin to separate.I then also added some pure alcohol in small amounts which seemed to help a bit.
But right now it looks like game over on this pathetic Bolva which is obviously anti-consumer ,anti-repair and a total waste of resources as everyone of these will go directly to a landfill first time an led burns out.Even refurbishing the logic boards wouldn't be feasible. This tv is just like the one shot through away cameras.I am only referring to this particular model and the others appear to be different.

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by KemerHello, I removed the graphics card from my laptop and I want to heat it in the oven. What I want to ask is, is it okay to heat the card without removing the metal mounting frame on it?
As you can see in the photo, there is a plastic (black) gasket between the metal frame and the card. It sticks the frame tightly to the card.
I previously removed the metal frame while heating it, but it is quite difficult to separate it from the surface it is attached to. If there is no problem, I do not want to remove it.
What worries me right now is the possibility that... -

Good working own screen part number
Error I get with the bad working China screen:
No error with the good working own screen:
All the three China screens (all the same exact part numbers) produce the same error in Device manager. Have also performed a clean installation... -
by edugimenoHi There!
I bought a broken 32" TV today. It has sound but no image. I checked with a flashlight and it was missing backlight
Disassembled down to the led strips and found this TV has been serviced before. Not sure if it was fixed, worked again for some time, and broke again, or maybe last repair wasn't successful
Looks like on previous repair, the center LED strip was replaced with a different model, 7 leds in it instead of 8, but when checking LEDS one by one, leds on the center strip were brighter with same test voltage (multimeter in DIODE mode) so maybe the... -
by eccerr0rI suspect a lot of you have done a lot of repairs and end up with a lot of bad LED strips...what do you do with them?
Wonder if I should get a pile of LED chips and try to replace the bad units for the heck of it, but I don't really need the strips at the moment because I bought the strips...
Oh... and I think I got my TV working again, though not 100% I don't think, on a white screen I can see a bit of the ghost of the LED strips, must have done something wrong or the LED strips aren't quite the same as the original... - Loading...
