    Philips 32PFL3605/12 U4201 replacement

    Hello everyone!

This is my first post, but not my first attempt to repair a TV.
So a few days ago I got this Philips TV (TPM4.1E LA), which produced weird symptoms.

There were no 12 and 24V, which was caused by a shorted schottky. I replaced that, the voltages are alright everywhere, but it still refused to turn on or even produce a standby light.
Thats when I removed the cover lid from the U4201, turns out that it badly burnt through, thanks to that replaced diode. It's an MTK MT8222TMMU, and I already found a replacement for it. However in the service manual, it's listed as MT8222AMMU/A.

So my question is, should I go through with the TMMU one, or use the AMMU/A?
I'll attach some images which might help, since I couldn't find a datasheet for the AMMU/A.

Thank you to everyone in advance, who might be able to give some advice!

I would go for the same as the one one the board. You picked an ambitious repair.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Thanks! I figured that I should just pick the same one.
I tend to pick up TVs with power issues, since they always have a surprise in them. I mean, what's the fun if it's just some caps? ;D

My first attempt at doing one of these ic was a bunch of torn off traces.

Since the ic is definitely bad, use a sharp knife to cut the pins right at the ic body making sure you don't cut down to the board and cut a trace, then you can easily remove the pins from the board.

Philips 65PUS8518/12 distorted image after main board replacement
            by tuner2000i
            hello everyone,

I don't normally do tv repairs but this is a case with my personal TV which got fried together with many other electronics in my house after a thunderstorm.

The TV is a Philips 65PUS8518/12 which had no power. I measured and concluded that the main board was probably fried through ethernet or hdmi. I found a board with same number 715GD328-M0F-B00-005Y (I had G) but from a 55PUS8518. The TV starts but the image is doubled, distorted. I need to set the panel code which is 016 according to the sticker on the back but I can not seem to do it.

Philips 58PUS7805/12 showed no picture; after T-Con replacement, shows halo
            by Rauni
Hello, this is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted to repair a TV.

My Philips 58PUS7805/12 stopped working recently. It is not that old, about 5 years. We were on a trip for a few days and when we came back, it had stopped working out of a blue (Perhaps our house was hit by a lightning strike? Don't know.)

Read from a guide that I should test if the screen shows picture with one of the T-Con cables disconnected. Did that, it showed perfect picture (first on left, later on right side).

Read also that we should test what happens if we...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo
            by G33RT
Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

Unknown transformer : how to find a good replacement part ?
            by the_rem
            Hello guys,

I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.

I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow...

PS4 controller left stick potentiometer replacement issue
            by ezenia
            Hello,

Not sure if this is the correct section, but I have a PS4 controller that I am trying to fix. It developed stick drift on the left stick and the usual simpler methods did not fix the problem.

So I went on eBay and ordered some replacement potentiometers. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174967976757 is where I got them from.

I took the green potentiometers off the replacement sticks and soldered them onto the PCB. Assembled the controller and ran some tests. The drifting was somewhat fixed (not fully in center, but way better than before). However,...
