    Hi Iotas,

Are you still active here? Our TV backlight works with MB disconnected. I can upload from eeprom for fix maybe?

Hi, I'm still here, post your original dump here, I'll check if that's the problem.

Its on a CH341A (ive flashed loads of BIOS with it) - just this one doesnt want to read. Dont use the clip or anything, always desolder and solder to the programmer board

The chip actually gets hot while reading too on the PC. I switched it to 3.3v and still cant be read

be sure you installed the chip in correct way... pin 8 should be at 3.3V

Try it, don't forget about the register status (0x88, 0x42) after writing the corrected dump.

Thank you. I will try in 15 minutes when I'm back home. Can you clarify what you mean by register?

I have colibri or neoprogrammer. Or I can download another if necessary of course

Yes, neoprogrammer is exactly what you need for this.
                                        In the program:
                                        1. Click "Detect Chip" and select W25Q40CL and "Select IC".
                                        2. Click "Unprotect".
                                        3. Click "Clear IC" and "Yes".
                                        4. Click "Open File" and select your corrected dump.
                                        5. Press "Program IC" and "Yes".
                                        6. Click "Verify IC".
                                        7. Press the down arrow to the right of "Unprotect" and select "SREG Edit", put a check mark on SRP0, BP1, CMP, QE and press "Write" and "Yes"
                                        7. Close the program. Ready.
