    I found this URL, looks like this is a known fault worldwide. I spoke to Sony, they are not willing to accept the fault out of USA and Canada.

    Is there anyway I can reload the firmware to the NAND easily without getting a $300 reader from Aliexpress?

      Assuming you have a bin file with the firmware that is meant to go straight onto the NAND chip, you could use a $10 Tang Nano FPGA dev board to write the firmware.

      Obviously this requires experience with HDL coding, basic knowledge of digital communication systems, and a lot of time spent reading the NAND flash data sheet. This is why they charge so much for the programmers, they have already done all of this work for you.
