    LG OLED65CX6LA - TV Turns off 2sec After Power-On

    Hi,

I got an LG OLED65CX6LA TV that turns off 2 seconds after trying to power it on. While being on for a couple of seconds, a white vertical stripe comes on the right side while the rest of the screen stays black.

It is quite new and the previous owner mentioned that the TV set got bumped in the bottom-right corner and the issue started since then (there is no visible sign of crack/defect. He got a new one from the insurance so he did not bother with trying to fix it and gave it to me.

I already spent a decent amount of time trying to inspect it after reading here several threads on bad OLEDs. I did not have any luck whatsoever and I'm wondering if this TV set is a total waste of time/money or an engaging project that could potentially generate a nice & almost new OLED for my house?

    What I've tried:
    1. Connected the AC power and turned it on with the power button/remote - it goes back to standby almost immediately as mentioned in the title.

    2. Disconnected TCON connectors (one at a time) as mention in previous threads - that helped to keep the TV powered on in some scenario, with the vertical white stripe on the right side (steady). At this point, the OPTIC AUDIO had a red light, the LAN port communicated with the router and got an IP, and connecting my phone through HDMI played audio with no issue. This makes me believe that the MB is OK?

    3. Roughly measured voltages and as far as I understand they are OK, but I'm no engineer and could be wrong, any service manual or specific pointers available for this TV set to make sure the volts are OK?

    4. Used jumpers to try to get the TCON and panel module running as standalone - the TV got on when connected to AC with the same white (more blueish/greenish) stripes on a black screen.

    5. Disconnected & reconnected all connectors and made sure they are clean and intact - they seem ok and this procedure did not change anything.

    6. Tried an IR blaster from Laptop with some service WAV commands I have found in this forum, the IR commands mostly received at the TV set but I did not succeed with getting the IN_STOP command to take the TV into standby (even when followed with some codes appeared in other threads) so I'm not sure how to proceed.

I'm posting a few pics and would appreciate any guidance to keep troubleshooting it? Or shall I give up with my limited knowledge and resources?

    Many Thanks!

      4. Used jumpers to try to get the TCON and panel module running as standalone - the TV got on when connected to AC with the same white (more blueish/greenish) stripes on a black screen.
if you have luck, the crack wasn't on screen class.
Keep only the set working on the test you did at point 4 ( t-con & panel running as standalone )

remove the speakers and try to have access to the area where are dumped before..from the back side.

you have one line cutting out, if you take a look on the ribbon cable each had 4 wide lines 2 at each side. one of those line at the dumped area cutting off at the edge boards of the panel. you give a try you will never lost

edit, also you can try while you running the set as yours point 4. clicking with your finger on the area where dumped before.. if there no crack and its just shorted cell it could go open and the screen light on with just pixel line fault.

Thank you for your suggestions, I removed the speakers and a metal bracket in between them, but it did not reveal something that helped me continue troubleshooting.

I also clicked on the area where the alleged damage was and the screen did respond by shooting more vertical colored stripes through a larger area this time. Unfortunately, it got me to keep pressing until I cracked the corner of the screen and no longer had any lines showing. I continued without any helped but only kept the crack go further.

I guess I killed whatever left of this panel, do you think it is probable to get a hold of a replacement screen for a sane price?

        Thanks.

That's a good idea, I will try selling the working parts, thanks for your help!
