    Hi,

I have the same issue on a D series. What was the outcome? Did you replace the NAND chip?

    Regards

reset TV from the access menu useless to repair / over write bad sectors on NAND
Only Hard reset from service menu will do the job.

If you sort it out turn OFF auto updates because there's something fishy about a LOT of samsung updates screwing tv's up, big time.

Just saw Mr. Barton's suggestion, good call, I would try that first, could work if it was just a bad update and the nand isn't faulty.

The K9GAG08U0E has bad blocks. This model suffers from it.
It requires a new NAND, they are available pre programmed for around £20.

Could be that the updates are messing up the nand chips or nand chips could just be junk. The fix isn't easy. Looks like the options are a replacement mainboard, possibly taking out nand chip and reprogramming, buying new nand chip and programming or buying new nand chip already programmed, the chip you need is K9GAG08U0E but if it isn't programmed it won't work.

I think you can rename your file to force an update but I cannot remember what the procedure was. It has been mentioned several times on the site so I'm sure a member will be able to tell you how.

    Update:

So I froze the nand chip and I can get the TV to stay on for longer but now the problem is that I cannot update the software as I am already on the latest version (1027). I accessed the service menu and performed a factory reset but that does not roll back the software. Any ideas on how to proceed now?

Nand failure of these boards is a common issue with the main board. You might if you are lucky freeze the nand and allow it to boot up then immeadiately update it with the firmware for it with usb stick. Make sure you have the usb memory stick fully prepared before freezing the nand. With luck you maybe able to get it going without replacing the nand on the main board. Main boards for it will be expensive as they regularly fail and need to be replaced!

Thanks, I'm not sure what a Tcon board is. I have attached images below of the boards on the unit.

Thanks for the suggestion, is it possible to install an update when the TV is powering on and off? I can't currently use the menu or settings as it won't stay on long enough to go that far.

Could very well be, I could not freeze it long enough to do an update.

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
    by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...
