Hello. I have to read a 24c04(404rp) eeprom msop8 package but currently don't have an adapter for it. I have read couple comments that claim that you can read by connecting only some pins of the eeprom, only serial data and serial clock. Has anyone tried this or is there any way how to read the data without desoldering the chip?

Re: 24C04 Eeprom programming?
Method one, clip, best to buy the newers one with jumper connectors, not soldered wires. Method two, solder sda, scl, wp, then an alligator clip wire for the gnd. This method requires some attentions, you must power supply the chip with supply of all the board but you must wait that the main chip approximately have finished accessing the eprom, also it must be address 1.Last edited by Davi.p; 02-03-2021, 11:48 PM.

Re: 24C04 Eeprom programming?
25Q needs almost every pin connected so it is much better a fast clip on it but cheap clips very often fails contact due to bigger sizes than a 24c. To correct myself i'm not sure if address must be 1, i think not.Last edited by Davi.p; 02-04-2021, 01:03 PM.
