    Macbook Display EEPROM Programming

    Hello,
    Namaste!

Recently while doing Macbook Display repairs - due to a mishap by the supplier, we found that certain Macbook LCDs are cross -compatible but have Brightness issues.

Some are DIM after start-up and some stay at Max brightness with the brightness control being disabled.

While speaking to my supplier they said that they can program the LCDs at the Factory so that the brightness issue was resolved.

I was wondering if there were a way we could do the same? I came upon a video online as well. Here is the link >

Anyone has any idea on this?

They could be programming the EDID rom chip,i`m not sure. Ask them if they will send you EDID dumps so that you can program them yourself

I am sure they will sell the .bin file if asked for. We can also take a backup of the file from a "Known Good Screen" can't we?

You could try it and post your results.I never tried it with apple panels so i don`t know, but there could be some other chip that needs programming. What is the difference between the screens anyway, are the part numbers different. Post both working and non working part numbers or post pictures

As far as my knowledge goes the screens are programmed in such a way that some models dont work across other models. They have brightness issues which evidently gets resolved after programming.

Which programmer to use? Can you please guide? I want to try this out whether it works or not.

14" MacBook LCDs - has Apple re-introduced a new serialisation type?
            by ronaldopdias
            Hi all,

Since about a month or two ago, we've observed a new type of 'serialisation' on the LCDs and we're just curious whether anyone has seen this
            • New LCDs straight from the factory (not programmed)- if the Mac is restarted or switched on from a cold boot, you must close the lid, then open it again (so two cycles of opening and closing the screen) in order to get display.
            • Transplant the IC onto another screen:
              • If the model and revision match exactly then it will perform as normal
              • If the manufacturer matches exactly BUT its a different revision, the colours are mostly in
            ...

MacBook Pro 2018 with Activation Lock
            by envym
            Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

            93C46 and 93C56 EEPROM
            by SidneyCanadas
I tore apart my instrument cluster for my 2008 Toyota Corolla made in 2007 in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and pcb location: IC6=EEPROM is a surface mounted device with part # of 93C46W7, some claim the EEPROM out of a Camry part # 93C56 will allow odometer to roll over 299 999 KM or miles. The data sheet for both is below:

            https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...c6e42b20d3.pdf 2

Anyone know if the Camry one will work on my Corolla?. And which EEPROM reader/writers do you all recommend I purchase that will allow me to read the old values of the old...

Please advise what to buy for NAND programming for MacBook?
            by PITERPENY
I'm thinking about buying a programmer for NAND for MacBook! Tell me what else is relevant to buy today for this? my gaze looks at JCID p11f, p13, p15. Is it worth prepaying?
