    LG 60PK750 no image.

Hi all. I've got a LG 60PK750, which recently stopped displaying images. The television still turns on (has sound and screen lightens) but no picture is displayed.

I pulled off the back and checked voltages, and all seem in line with what's on the label.

Next I figured I'd test the logic board, so I disconnected cable P31 and joined the r51 and r52 holes with a bit of wire, before turning on the television. The TV turned on and displayed test patterns, which I kept running for a while to ensure it could be sustained.

Since it was able to display a series of images of various colors just fine when the only change I made was to the logic board (the bit of wire seemed the deciding factor, rather than the P31 unplug), that suggested to me that the logic board was the source of my issues, rather than a power or sus issue. However when I installed a replacement I had the same exact problem from the start, and when I performed the r51/r52 test on the new board it also produced test patterns.

    I see three possibilities here:
    1. I was shipped a faulty replacement logic board.
    2. I'm a moron and the problem is actually with the board I've been considering "just the a/v input board", not the logic board.
    3. The problem lies elsewhere.

I don't see how 3 is possible, given the board-isolating nature of the testing. However people here are more experienced than I am, so I thought I'd post here before throwing money at another replacement board. My gut is leaning towards situation 2.

If anyone has any thoughts or insights, I'd welcome them.

    Re: LG 60PK750 no image.

I have the exact same symptoms on a Panasonic plasma. I have a thread a couple posts down from this one. Haven't got any replies yet so it mustn't be very obvious what the problem is. If I manage to figure the problem out I'll be sure to post it and explain how I found it so hopefully it can help you narrow your problem down.

Do you have any pictures of the back of the TV so we can see how the boards are laid out and also pictures of the two boards in question?

It reads like you're doing the test with the jumpers on the control board and this is testing the mainboard. They are known for having a bad BGA under the processor.

You definitely have a bad mainboard!

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
          by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Will I have a bricked logic board after reflow of the GPU v-core U8900 chip on my Mid-2012 15" Retina Macbook pro?
          by korben_dallas
Hi everyone! I'm trying to fix my black screen / failed U8900 GPU v-core on my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retinaby doing a rework/reflow of the chip (once I determine that's the real issue; but it likely is).

I've been disabling the GPU in NVRAM for a few years... but it's just time for a better solution.

I'm new to soldering but the only feasible way to fix this issue is to do something myself.

          MY QUESTION:
I've been seeing some people (on this forum mostly) run into issues with the logic board needing a serial number or it being deactivated (?)...

          2007 Macbook logic board fault
          by tony359
          Good day all,

I got a 2007 MacBook from a friend. The fan was not working so it was overheating.
Once the fan was swapped, I installed an OS and it worked fine.

The board had quite a few corroded spots so I removed it, touched those spots with a soldering iron, washed the board in PCB cleaning fluid (I've done that many times), rinsed it with distilled water, dried it etc.

Unfortunately it doesn't work anymore. It does turn on, fan spins, power LED turns on. But no picture.

If I see that right, I have missed VCORE on L7100 (page 59)....

Philips 65PUS8518/12 distorted image after main board replacement
          by tuner2000i
          hello everyone,

I don't normally do tv repairs but this is a case with my personal TV which got fried together with many other electronics in my house after a thunderstorm.

The TV is a Philips 65PUS8518/12 which had no power. I measured and concluded that the main board was probably fried through ethernet or hdmi. I found a board with same number 715GD328-M0F-B00-005Y (I had G) but from a 55PUS8518. The TV starts but the image is doubled, distorted. I need to set the panel code which is 016 according to the sticker on the back but I can not seem to do it.
