Received this tv that had sound but no picture. Wish I would have taken more pictures but it is the model with a integrated T-con. It's part of the panel. Part number 13Y_32AN01S4LV0.2 I found that I had 12V on the test point but the 31V test point was fluctuating 1.5V to 2.5V. Found on the row of caps CD12- CD15 were reading short on both sides with the negative lead on the ground pad of the T-Con board. In the picture I had removed CD12 but the short was still there. When I removed CD15 the short went away and the TV worked normally. The cap I removed that was good was a 10uf cap. Replaced the bad one with the same 10uf cap and reinstalled the CD12 cap. All is working normally. Hope this helps someone out there. Trying to give back to this wonderful group that have helped me countless times! Happy holidays everyone!

by StephenI check PPBUS_AON and there is a short present on the line, the computer shows a short when testing for short to ground, so when I inject voltage into the line, I get 0AMPS so no short is showing up. I have replaced a blown cap on this board that exploded and tested for the short and it is now removed. Any suggestions? I tested voltage at the line when the fuses are connected and I am getting 1.2 Volts at the line.

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to repair my old Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-54-55T5). I've already bought a new laptop, so this is more of a learning project. For the experience, with no high expectations of success.
Well, my decice specs are the following:
Model: Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-55T5
CPU: Intel Core i5-11400H
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
Motherboard: GH51G LA-L181P Rev:1c
The symptom:
When pressing the power button, the power LED lights up for about 5 seconds and then turns off. Initially, the issue was intermittent: sometimes...05-26-2025, 10:49 AM -
by Geeker007Hi All, I have a 9th Gen Dell Optiplex micro PC motherboard which doesn't power on. When I connect the motherboard with power adapter, it goes into safe mode and turns off. So from info I have gathered online, it looks like there is a short circuit on the motherboard. So can you guys help me with figuring out the issue?
I am new to electronics repair, so my queries could be naive but I am ready to learn.
So I have a multimeter and a solder with me. But I can try to get a variable voltage power supply with a thermal camera as well. From what I seen online, best way is... -
by l0lhaxz1Hi
I have a QN65QN90A which was purchased around launch I guess making it about 1.5-2 years old... had been working fine until a few days ago, simply went black and would no longer turn on (at all). No standby light and no typical PSU relay click etc. Absolutely dead.
Pulled it apart without doing much research first, suspecting the power supply as it had a faint buzz (I guess due to the forthcoming found short), investigated PSU for some time and concluded there was no fault that I could spot with the board removed.
Came to learn after a bit more research... -
by retrorepair2Got a really frustrating issue here, got a Dell laptop as above which initially had a short on the +POWER_SRC rail, discovered a short cap in a bank of 3 near PU801. Removed and verified the short was gone, it was and the laptop powered on, tried to load windows but just kept rebooting. Sometimes didn't post. Battery was charging.
Stripped it back down and replaced the cap (assumed looking at the LA-632p schematic it's a 10U cap, no boardview so who really knows). Now the board doesn't charge the battery and while it powers on with a brief spin of the fans, there's no display on the...1 Photo - Loading...
