  • Thank you for the data sheet you provided! When I get a chance to return to this project I’ll update what I find. Right now I feel like I’m chasing my tail on it! Keeps leading me back to the PWM IC being faulty. When I ordered them they came in a pack of five. I replaced it with another. Same result! Need to walk away for a bit for a fresh prospective! Have other projects that need attention. Thanks again for your update!

  • I’m struggling with this board as well. Initially I had the same defective parts. Replaced them and still nothing. I have scoured my board to find the defect. I’ve found nothing out of range. It’s a real head scratcher! The only thing I can think of is a defective LD7913. Did you get yours working? What did you find?

  • Re: Removing screens

I use a old insurance card. It’s about .010 thick plastic and separates the glue from the screen easily without damaging it. Sometimes I warm it with a hair dryer just to loosen the adhesive as well.

  • UN32EH4003FXZA Found Fix!

Received this tv that had sound but no picture. Wish I would have taken more pictures but it is the model with a integrated T-con. It's part of the panel. Part number 13Y_32AN01S4LV0.2 I found that I had 12V on the test point but the 31V test point was fluctuating 1.5V to 2.5V. Found on the row of caps CD12- CD15 were reading short on both sides with the negative lead on the ground pad of the T-Con board. In the picture I had removed CD12 but the short was still there. When I removed CD15 the short went away and the TV worked normally. The cap I removed that was good was a 10uf cap. Replaced the...

  • Re: How do I wire this thing up?

It appears from your photo that you’ve got your feet installed upside down. I’ve got one of these plates. Works very well but the heating side is the flat side of the plate.

  • Re: Please help, is my Panasonic plasma ZT65 dead?

Thank you for clearing that up R_J. I was steering you wrong HumanTT sorry about that. I've obviously got a lot to learn about plasmas and the folks here are experts. The defect you have wouldn't be a bad buffer board. That would be a defect that would run from one side of the screen to the other so your buffer boards are probably ok.

Looks like your SC board or the board on the left is bad. 900 ohms is way too low. You’ll probably find some of the ICs mounted to the heatsinks shorted. You can also check the SD and SU boards for shorted buffer ICs. Those are the boards that are mounted between the flat ribbons that go to the panel and the left board. Here’s a link to a video on how to do that.

  • Re: Please help, is my Panasonic plasma ZT65 dead?

Here’s a link to a video on how to test a Panasonic board at the connector. It’s at the very beginning of the video. The rest of the video is the repair of the board. It’s a different board than yours but it gives you the idea. He’s testing in the diode mode instead of checking resistance and listening for a beep. Some of the inexpensive meters don’t have this function so checking resistance works on all meters. He checked it one direction. Check it both directions and report back. Take a picture of...

Make sure the tv is unplugged and has been powered off for at least 10 minutes. With a meter check the resistance both directions between the two pins that are circled white in the pictures with the plug unplugged from the board and report back on your findings. If you don't have a multimeter you can get a cheap one for around 10 dollars at Walmart or a hardware store that will work. Don't give up yet!...

  • Re: Samsung PN43f4550AFXZA plasma HELP!

Today I’m going to leave it powered up and let it run for awhile. Test the FET’s with a temp gun and see if anything is heating up beyond the temps of the others or not heating up at all. Kevin

I removed the IGBTs on the Y-main board attached to the heatsink and tested each to make sure they switch on and off with the meter in the diode mode. They did. I also tested the diodes attached to the heatsink with the IGBTs removed to isolate. They tested normally in the diode mode. Reattached the IGBTs and touched up all the solder joints on the heatsink as well as the transformer and coils. No help. Kevin

  • Re: Samsung PN43f4550AFXZA plasma HELP!

Has anyone seen this defect on any other plasma? What was the fix? I'm still thinking I've got a bad panel. I've taken the frame off from around the glass and throughly inspected for any defects with a strong light. None found. I've also heated and cooled the areas where the flat cables go into the panel with no change. I took two pictures of test patterns with the tv in the service mode. The first one definitely shows the defect on the lines going left to right not vertically. The second shows the defect along with the image retention I've...

Here's a picture of the panel label. I couldn't find any VE test point or anything marked VE on any plug. All other voltages listed on the label are within .2v. Thanks, Kevin...

  • Re: Samsung PN43f4550AFXZA plasma HELP!

I couldn't find resistor R4022. I checked the resistors that we're close to 33 ohm. They are labeled RM897 and RM898. They both read read 36 ohms. I've included a picture from shopjimmy of the power supply board with those resistors circled. The picture is much clearer that what I can take in my garage. I also put the test pattern with the color bars in service mode and SVT_XOUT was a steady 71v DC. Thank you for help!

  • Re: Samsung PN43f4550AFXZA plasma HELP!

I will check SVT_XOUT voltage on the X-Main as well as the resistors on the power supply board and report back. Shopjimmy being out of the Y-Main sounds like that might be the offender. Would like to find the part on the board that's causing the problem to help the next person with this issue if it doesn't turn out to be the panel. Thank you folks for help!

  • Re: Samsung PN43f4550AFXZA plasma HELP!

I’ve turned VS, VA AND VSCAN pots to try to improve things. Didn’t change things much. Tried disconnecting the y-main buffer panel flat connectors one at a time and didn’t change anything. Also did a test for each buffer IC with a meter and no shorts were found. Anyone have one of these Samsungs with this condition? I even removed the FETs and diodes attached to the heat sink on the y-main and tested in diode mode. No defects found. What should I try next? Thanks, Kevin

  • Samsung PN43f4550AFXZA plasma HELP!

Need some guidance from the experts here. This is the second Samsung plasma that I've received with the same symptoms. The color bars show the worst of the condition. There is also image retention as well. All voltages are within .2v of the panel label. I have checked all the FET's on the heatsinks and surface mounts as well as diodes. No issues. I also have inspected all boards with a magnifying lens and bright light and have found nothing obvious. I've also cooled and heated all three boards with a hair dryer and cooling spray with no results. This model has a combo Y-main and buffer board,...

  • Re: Stumped on Samsung PN60E530A3F

I can tell you that for the one I worked on there were more bad caps than just the three. I had two more, don't remember the locations, that were bad. I replaced all the small blue caps with equivalent caps and it fired right up. I also know that the IC you refer to in the previous post by the yellow transformer others have had success in replacing that as well. Just my thoughts. Good luck!
