Most of the time when I mess with TVs, I don't have any connection in my shop. Could I make some sort of usb stick to just cycle through video or test patterns?

by nono34Hello,
I accidentally changed the project ID in the service menu of my Vidaa Hisense 100U7KQ TV. When I turn on the TV, the screen displays an RGB color cycle (test mode???). I contacted Hisense, and they sent me a usb_MTK_9618.EU.bin file, but it doesn't work. I can see that the USB drive is being read, and it flashes for about 10 minutes (the screen remains in the color cycle during the firmware reading), then the TV turns off and restarts, but still in the color cycle mode.
I want to mention that the 4GB USB is formatted in FAT32 MBR. I've also renamed the file to... -
Good day everyone,
Let me preface this with letting you know that I have a smalltime computer repair shop but do not have a lot of experience when it comes to board diagnostics. I am good at soldering etc but finding the issue if there isn't an obvious burnt component is not my strong suit.
The other day I got a customer come in with a macbook A1990 (motherboard 820-01814-A) that would not turn on and had previously been getting the warning message that the battery needed servicing. (Most folks seem to ignore that message, just like the check engine light in vehicles.)... -
by patricksurryWe had a power outage but TV seemed to be working fine afterward. This morning it showed a "grainy" picture, and then next time we turned it on it's stuck in a test-pattern loop. None of the resets I've tried have any effect, including unplug/wait/plug in - it immediately goes into this cycling test pattern.
Does this suggest the main board needs replaced? The TV is about 5 years old, picture still looks great (tho limiting to crisp red/green/blue/white lacks some variety

by chth96Hello
I have power adaptor(220V/input, 12V 1.2A/output) which has symptom of fluctuating output DC voltage between 11.5V-12.2V.
So I opened its plastic case and when switched it on, I heard constant tik tik sound from inside its PCB.
I measured DC voltage between negative and positive pin of the largest capacitor(400v 10uf) and it was measured contant 300V.
I also measured ESR value of all capacitors and I noticed that one of capacitor(KMG 16v 470uf), which located in the secondary side, have high ESR value(10 ohm),So I replaced it with same specification NXH capacitor.... -

I have a big problem and that is that in some cases when repairing active pfc power supplies I cannot work with a test lamp. I can only get help with 5 volts standby and for starting and starting I have to work without a lamp and this way there is a possibility of parts exploding and other parts being added.
Sometimes with a multimeter test the problems can be reduced to some extent, but I had several cases that had to be tested on and online and recently two varistors exploded. They had terrible resistance because the power supplies were over 800 watts.
Is there a way... - Loading...
