Hi could you help, i recently attempted to do a TAB DOND FIX ON MY kdL52X350, All went well until one of the metal clips touched the circuit board that holds the metal frame around LCD panel, Now the backlight does not work and also no picture, The sound is ok. What do you think would of been damged. The TAB Panel, Tcon Board, LCD board that connects to Tcon, Any advice would be great. thank you.Leave a comment:

Re: Sony Bravia no picture but backlight on
Cool thanks, and thanks..
Looking at average the part goes for around 120.00 so not to bad if it is the correct part to fix.

Re: Sony Bravia no picture but backlight on
Rules of the pics. Ideally you would get them as close to 2000x2000 as possible (maximum dimension on one side) so that we can see the details.
The top connector is fragile -- the black part swings up to a 90 degree angle and the cable slides out.Leave a comment:

Re: Sony Bravia no picture but backlight on
Sadly, I had just missed a fellow on eBay with same TV that had a cracked screen, he was selling all the boards at 0.99 starting price. I should have bought all of them for well under 500.00 something like 200.00 with shipping would have got them all.Leave a comment:

I replaced a sony panel with one from a toshiba once. Just the LCD portion as the sony was cracked. Check the number on the circuit board at the top of the lcd panel itself not the tcon. Mine had the same part number but a different rev number but it worked! I'm betting it's the main board.Leave a comment:

The explanation is easy. Finding the bad solder joint is the hard part. The good news is the harder it is to find, the greater your sense of accomplishment when you succeed.

Re: Sony Bravia no picture but backlight on
The cable is good, it is a 1 meter cable that I use everyday on the PS3 straight to other TV, but I did try a second cable to be sure. As well, went around every board on TV and checked connections, all look good (some grease, but that is standard).Leave a comment:

Got same problem on the 52" version. So I will keep tabs on this, for when I get around to getting new T-Con board.
Same thing, as first poster, BL works fine, actually even picture came on once just from moving connectors, get audio out from all the HDMI jacks, but no picture. That indicates a bad connection - either the cable itself, or on the board the cable connected to.

Re: Sony Bravia no picture but backlight on
Panel totally failed sorry to say. Also make sure the LCD voltage is 5 or 12V is within range. If not. Time for a another panel or new TV.

So, I got the replacement board, installed it but the fuse popped again.
Can any other board be burning the fuse?Leave a comment:

HEY HEY!! I got my T-Con board today. 15 minutes later I was looking at one snazzy working tv. I still don't know what was wrong with the old board, but at least with all your help I narrowed it down.
Thanks a lot everybody for your help!

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by DKWS89Hey Guys,
So a few months ago my Sony XBR 49x900e TV screen stopped displaying the picture but the backlight comes on and I still get sound when I use the remote and navigate to certain apps. I haven't checked anything with the meter yet but started with ordering some replacement boards. I've tried replacing the BMKS board (used from ebay) and also completed the firmware upgrade based on Nicks TV repairs youtube video. I've also replaced the TCON (twice) and PIB.
All of these changes have resulted in the same issue with no picture. I've also tried disconnecting the ribbons... -
by ronniI have a Sony KD-43XE8005 with no picture on the TV when powered on. Audio and backlight work ok when powering on. Solid white indication light showing on front of tv bezel.
When removing the left hand ribbon cable from the T-con board, a white image is displayed on that half of the screen and a black screen is shown on the right. If I gently rub the ribbon cable on the right an image or purple black bars appear. The cable doesnt appear damaged, and if swapped with the other ribbon cable the same flickering symptoms can be seen.

by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... - Loading...
