    Panasonic P65GT50

I get 8 blink code when I power on the TV. I have done some troubleshooting and observed the following:

    SS-Board (TNPA5648-1)
    - I have checked for transistor, diode, resistor shorts and everything looks fine.
    - confirmed all cables are properly connected and continuity on the panel.

    - when I remove the ribbon connection between SS board and A board (SS33/A33) the TV stays powered up and I measure the following on the SS board:
    - TPVSUS = 210V, TPVe = 150V, TPSS1 = 60V
    - A33 connector has 5V, 15V on the A-board side
    - SC board LED is on and that side of the display appears happy
    - C1, C2, C3 boards have 3.3 and VDA ~ 55V.

With SS33/A33 ribbon reconnected, the SS and SC LED's turn on and then turn off after 1 second.
    - I confirmed VCC=5V on the buffer IC's, VDD=15V on the recovery buffer IC's.
    - TPS0S8 = 5V on power up (~1s), and then goes to 0V once the unit powers down.
-Is it recommended to remove the SS33/A33 ribbon connection and feed an external 5V, 15V to the SS board to make troubleshooting easier, not sure if this is a good idea?
    - I also considered shorting TPS0S8 to ground to see if the TV stays powered up.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Anyone have any suggestions or can anyone tell me where I can find some parts for this old plasma?

Disconnect your main board and power supply from every other board except eachother. keep the main and power supply connected to one another as well as keep the main board connected to the buttons or IR sensor.
Power on the set and wait 10-15 seconds for it to click on then back off. Once it clicks off, power up the set using the the button or IR which ever you left plugged in.
Does the 8 blink still show up?
Yes then main board is the issue.
No then I don't know what the issue is but at least you ruled out the main board and power supply board.
This TV set won't throw blinking codes for not having the sc or SS board connected as long as all the cables are disconnected from both the power supply and the main board.

I disconnected the main board and power supply from every other board except each other and I do not get the 8 blink code. I can keep everything plugged in except the ribbon connection between SS board and A board (SS33/A33) and I do not get the 8 blink code. Once that connection is made, I get the 8 blink code. Once the logic level on TPS0S8 goes high to 5V, that triggers the 8 blink event. Should I just try replacing the SS board?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
          by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
          by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...
