    Philips 42PFL4606 No Backlight

    Hello Guys

This time ive got an 4606 again but with totally different issue
When powering on the unit you see the logo for an few second and after that only with an flashlight, ive tested the tv with an 47 SMPS and the all is working fine, So problem must be located in the 42 SMPS.

When measuring ENA and DIM i get 4,9V and 2,6V this while the tv is powered on.
Also between PIN 17 and 22 iam getting an High ohm reading 83K.
Which section do i need to check ?

Does the VDD on pin 16 of IC801 stay present after the backlights cut off?
The 395VDC PFC Boost Voltage also stay when the backlights cut off?

Check the resistance of the two high Voltage windings (PIN 5 & 6, 7 & 8) of the inverter transformer T803 and also compare it to the working board.

Hi i did some very intensive research i measured all resistors in the Inverter part.
Where needed i desoldered them of the board to measure.
iam not sure how to measure the ceramic capacitors ? any ideas how to do that on a good manor

I would have thought that R801 and R892 resistance to be identical.
Have you check C802. These high voltage capacitors in series with transformers do tend to fail.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

That means the Backlights on command is still present on the EN pin but the IC is in protection mode some how.

So i'm trying to replace the LED's in a Philips TV. It's 42" with a 715g7262-p01-000-0010 backlight driver board based around an O2 Micro OZ9902CGN.

My issue is when I replace all the LED's on one board with the new 3V 300ma ones they immediately burn out when the set is powered again. I previously tried the same thing with 6V LED's and the backlight flickered for a bit but wouldn't start.

The original LED's which I removed which are still working start to melt and burn when given more than 3V on DCPS so I know they shouldn't be higher voltage ones.

                                    ...

I raised the question of whether PWM on the power board "dim" pin would be a reasonable assumption for controlling the backlight of a Philips TV (55put6101/12): https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...d-tv-backlight. I didn't receive any insights there so I went ahead and tried it.

                                    The setup is basically:

                                    Rpi3 hardware PWM → 220 Ohm → NPN transistor → dim pin

Transistor is switching the 3.5 V supply on the power board....

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

                                    Hello everyone,

First of all, please excuse me as I'm quite new to this field.

I have a Philips 55PUS6804/12 TV. It turns on and off instantly (backlight flash). I personally think it's a backlight issue (faulty LEDs). Could you help me confirm my diagnosis?

I've checked and the T-CON seems to be fine. I disconnected one ribbon cable at a time at the bottom, but the problem persists.
The Ambilight works perfectly and stays on.

                                    No sounds.

                                    Thanks in advance.

TV philips 55'' no backlight (image ok).
I tested the backlight with my led tester from the unplugged connector cable and it lights up. I had voltages at the motherboard connector, but anyway I order a new psu. Same problem, same voltages. Disassembled the TV and checked every strip with my led tester, they all light up, same voltage for every pair of strip (they go two by two).
                                    What am I missing?

And something else I don't understand. I checked and I have 3v Leds, 10 per strips. Why every pair of strip (so 20 Led) take about 32v when powered up with my led tester 🤔
