Re: Vizio D55-f2 backlight/power supply 20v/24v rail output high 26v
i also removed mosfet pq4804 because i am getting inconsistent reading than other mosfets and pq4807 reading slightliy lower resistance as well

Re: Vizio D55-f2 backlight/power supply 20v/24v rail output high 26v
please excuse the hackjob of the 15ohm resistor and wire for a fuse i could not find another 5R1 resistor.
when i plug in the connector cn6101 upside down with positive on neg side etc there is backlight and display is working however half does look brighter.
cn6101 is where polarity is reversedLast edited by Nonya333; 10-05-2020, 11:45 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio D55-f2 backlight/power supply 20v/24v rail output high 26v
How about posting some high quality, in focus pictures so we know what we are dealing with? It seems the led's are driven from the main board so I doubt the power supply is at fault, more likely you have an open led in the panel. If the power supply provides 24v and it reads 26v it is likely due to the fact the backlights are not working. If they were working the higher current draw would lower the voltage to 24vLast edited by R_J; 10-04-2020, 06:38 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio D55-f2 backlight/power supply 20v/24v rail output high 26v
there are 2 outputs to the led lights from the mainboard.
the one with less pins still shows half as positive and half as negative but the output is reversed
positive is showing up on negative and negative on positive
i poked around everywhere i am thinking it is the ic chip that controls mosfets
any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Vizio D55-f2 backlight/power supply 20v/24v rail output high 26v
on the ps board on output there is a power mosfet to the 20/24v power rail/connector to main.
coming in from transformer there are 3 double schotky rectifiers.
there is a heat sink with bridge rectifier and what i am guessing is voltage regulator since i cannot see untill i desolder heat sink.
was your voltage regulator on hot side?Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio D55-f2 backlight/power supply 20v/24v rail output high 26v
You can check my thread where I've managed to fix 19V spikes on a 5.3V rail. My issue was a faulty switching voltage regulator on the power supply. Perhaps your issue is something similar.

Re: Vizio D55-f2 backlight/power supply 20v/24v rail output high 26v
is it normal for there to be aboit 26V on the 20v/24v power line and if not what would cause it to be so high?Leave a comment:

Vizio D55-f2 backlight/power supply 20v/24v rail output high 26v
no backlight on set.
the 20v rail fuse on the mainboard was blown. i replaced and backlight and tv worked for about a day before flickering and out again
input on mainboard for led should be 20v to fuse but is reading 26v at input and <3v output.
power supply output should be 20v/24v from connector and output is reading >25.6-26v
any suggestions?
i also tested backlights with tester and they were all same steady voltage and on
output switch transisters seem to be reading fine in circuit.
will check capacitors esr nextTags: None

by Nagy DanielHi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.
I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.
I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.
So, I generated a table with AI so I can... -
by FrancescoVGood morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.
The firmware reported is the following:
M:1.00/11107BLP
D:?.??/????????
O:1.00/11107AL
The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.
On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...-

by прямоJust received it today from a friend.
Auto shutdown by the supervisor IC because of an under voltage condition with 12V output rail (dropped to 10.5V)
The same rail also does this when the PSU is in standby mode.
https://ibb.co/5TBkg66
The leakage keeps climbing at a steady rate but slowing down when it reaches over 800mV or so. I didn't measure exactly at what value it stopped or if it's even stopped at all.
What could have caused that?
First time I have seen such behavior.

by momakaNormally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow.
But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though.
I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

by momakaFor today's thread, I have a KingWin ABT-650MM ATX PSU. Official web page with the PSU specs is still up and can be found here:
http://www.rmac.kingwin.com/products.../abt_650MM.asp
I just can't help it when I see a broken / for parts PSU on eBay that's listed for cheap and looks at least somewhat interesting. Well, OK, I won't lie – on the outside, this PSU looks anything but interesting. It's a plain gray box with colorful “spaghetti cables”.
What mostly drew me into buying it is its 2x PCI-E power connectors... - Loading...
