Re: TCON board compatibility question
i found on Panasonic web how to make hard reset follow method 2
Still the same image but was worth a shot.
After pressing the vol - and menu it showed a shipping menu which disabled all controls on the remote and eventually switched to another screen with lots of data which showed shipping failed.
I pulled the AC after waiting a while and powered back on, the tv was reset at it's default start screen.
New board got shipped today so hopefully be here in a few days. I'll remove the old bios / ic packages and transfer them over to the new tcon.
updates to follow...Leave a comment:

Re: TCON board compatibility question
try playing with the picture settings ..go for default first ..actually you could try a full factory reset in the hope the firmware was the correct one to start with if its like the tv i have been having fun with . . to me its too bright and no contrast .Leave a comment:

Re: TCON board compatibility question
just to remind the best way of dumping the SPI out of circuit and its under cool condition below 5 decree .. do the same for both 65 & 58 SPI as record.. and in case there are some things going wrong... you still can erase SPI and check blank..then write the dump..then identify the written script
I wonder, is there anything I can inspect, check on the current board or does my issue appear to be from the large BGA ICs ?Leave a comment:

Re: TCON board compatibility question
Not too difficult to find one but cost is 5x that of same board for a different screen.
I have a chip reader so I’ll try to remember to create a dump for each ic before refitting and yes, I certainly won’t switch them. Hopefully new board will be here in a few days. Worth a shot at £7Leave a comment:

BTW, that 'V500DK1-CKS1' is the blank PCB P/N, you need to match the PCBA P/N on the bar code sticker.Leave a comment:

Re: TCON board compatibility question
1 - that is my actual tcon board. where can you see damage?
2. yes menu UI is also washed out
3. never entered service menu
4. I have tried methods from here https://factory-reset.com/wiki/Panasonic_Service_Menu to try to enter service menu but none seem to work. Are there any other common ways?
5. half the screen goes black, other half is washed out
method 1 should workLeave a comment:

Re: TCON board compatibility question
from yours photo screen washed out early to judge T-CON fault before do some more test.
1- did the photo of the T-con are related to yours original parts or its for example you took from the web? because i can see some damage on it.
2- how about when you press menu .. did the menu UI come clear or its also washed ?
3- did you inter by chance the service menu and changed some things at swprofile.bin ?
4- did you tried to inter service menu and see the UI menu of the service option showing correctly or washed up ?
5- disconnect the last 2 ribbon cable from T-CON to panel ( the 2 on yours right hand when you stand behind the tv ) then turn on and see how it look the half screen.

by HakuuHi There,
This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.
After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by advantThis thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.
I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match... -

by rustinjustMy main board is a 17MB12-2 and reads underneath that the following number 160807 LF,
