I managed to reset the TV to factory using the hold vol - and menu on the remote while the tv was powered on.

Still the same image but was worth a shot.

After pressing the vol - and menu it showed a shipping menu which disabled all controls on the remote and eventually switched to another screen with lots of data which showed shipping failed.

I pulled the AC after waiting a while and powered back on, the tv was reset at it's default start screen.

New board got shipped today so hopefully be here in a few days. I'll remove the old bios / ic packages and transfer them over to the new tcon.

    updates to follow...

I wonder, is there anything I can inspect, check on the current board or does my issue appear to be from the large BGA ICs ?
if you log in service menu and under diagnostic option you will get more info

good to try and let us know but dump them first and replace each at same place ( don't switch them ) as the content different.
That’s true. In that case I am screwed lol.

Not too difficult to find one but cost is 5x that of same board for a different screen.

I have a chip reader so I’ll try to remember to create a dump for each ic before refitting and yes, I certainly won’t switch them. Hopefully new board will be here in a few days. Worth a shot at £7

I'm not sure if I see anything burned. I've attached some close ups for further inspection.

I'm not sure what gamma voltages are or where to test them from. Can't seem to find anything relating to how to test them. Could you advise?

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
    by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...
