    Sharp Aquos LC-40LE810E - 2 long, 1 short

    Hello,

First of all I am not native English speaking, so sorry for potential mistakes or misunderstanding.

I have a basic multimeter and a soldering iron. No electronic pieces for replacement for the moment, but I can buy some.

I have a Sharp Aquos LC-40LE810E with issue.
When I turn on my TV with the remote control, I have 2 long flashing on the boomerang symbol, and no image/no sound.
I saw in the service manual that I need to click on « menu » button of the remote control to have more information.

--> Error core is : 2 long, 1 short flash on the boomerang symbol, that repeat over and over.
According to service manual of the TV, this error code is :
    - « PS_ON AC_DET failure »
    - « AC_DET (72pin : Abnormal (L) If error is detected during start-up or operation, the power is turned on again by interrupt handling (instantaneous blackout processing) »

Service manual is available here : https://www.manualslib.com/manual/87...page=55#manual

When I plug on the TV to electricity, I have a little noice around power card. This noice (frequency) changes a bit with boomerang symbol lightening. Probably normal behavior ?
I see no visible damage on the Power Card at the back of the TV. Main fuses seems OK.

I measured voltage on PD connector pins with power turned on, after boomerang signal is up and with all connectors plugged into the power card (I dit not remove something at this time).
    PD-1 - UR13.2V (SIGNAL) : 0V
    PD-2 - UR13.2V (SIGNAL) : 0V
    PD-3 - S13.2V (AUDIO) : 0V
    PD-4 - S13.2V (AUDIO) : 0V
    PD-5 - SGND (AUDIO) : 0V
    PD-6 - SGND (AUDIO) : 0V
    PD-7 - SGND (SIGNAL) : 0V
    PD-8 - SGND (SIGNAL) : 0V
    PD-9 - AC-DET : 0V
    PD-10 - PS-ON : 0V
    PD-11 - BU5V : 4,99V
    PD-12 - PNL-POW : 0,09V

Right after I just plug power cable to electricity, voltage at PB connector pins 1-2-3-4 came up for a few seconds to 13,04 V and pin 10 came up to 3,01V and then dropped to zero since boomerang symbol turn on.
For the moment, I made no change on the card, just measured some values with my multimeter

Please note that a read all the following (very interresting) thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=49486 but I am not sure I am facing the same issue (they have a 2 long – 2 short error code, even if they are talking about AC_DET failure also)

I also read this tread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...AC-DET&page=16 and note that post #303 solved the issue by soldering an additional resistor on top of R7019 but another threas say it coul be only a temporary solution.

Also other people (with same issue ? diffucult to understand as there are multiple discussions in the threads) changed the 4 opto Cosmo 1010-817.

In advance, many thanks for your help !

    Re: Sharp Aquos LC-40LE810E - 2 long, 1 short

    "PD-9 - AC-DET : 0V"
    Normal condition is around 3V.
So you can try to drive the LED of the AC-DET OPTO by changing the resistor or replace the OPTO for the AC-DET circuit.
The service manual does not provide any schematics.
Is your power supply board DPS-126 CP?

      Hello Budm,

First, thank you for your help.

      My board is a "DPS-126CP-1 A"

I attach 5 pictures : Power card (face & back), focus on optos (face & back) and focus on PD connector if needed

      The reference written on optos is : COSMO 1010 817 K20 H
      On a famous chineese webstore, I see this reference : COSMO 1010 817C K10101C DIP4 COSMO1010-817 DIP-4
Is that the same component ?
Not easy to find on a european website, so I think I will wait for weeks before having them...

          Re: Sharp Aquos LC-40LE810E - 2 long, 1 short

          Thank you Budm,

I am not sure of what I can purchase as a component.
          The reference written on the 4 optos is : COSMO 1010 817 K20 H
          As per the datasheet:
          - COSMO 1010 817 is the main reference
          - K20 is the year and month code (I think year and month of production)
          - H is normally the CTR (Current Transfer Ratio)

BUT... H is not described in the datasheet (only A, B, C, D and E).
In different vendors, I have not seen any "H" value

Do you know if I can buy these components:
          - https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/32953604592.html

Thank you in advance for your advice

              Hello,

              I recieved new optos with reference cosmo 1010 817 I12 C.

As I didn’t know which opto had to be changed, I changed the 4 optos on the card.
Now my TV is working well !!

Many thanks to budm for your help.
I hope my experience can serve fo future people

Thanks for the follow-up on the repair.
BTW, you should record the Voltage readings of the connectors for future reference so you know what they should be when the TV is working correctly.

Sharp Aquos LC-70C6400U Half Screen Dark
                  by scubacamper
I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display...

Sharp Aquos Lc-80LE757U flashing Sharp on screen when plugged in
                  by sefoster
I have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

Sharp Aquos LC-40UG7252E LCD TV burn in?
                  by jonah1024
                  Hello!

I'm a few days old into this TV screens repair universe so please bear with me.

Recently, and all of a sudden my 40” 4K Sharp Aquos LCD TV turned on with colors all smudged in some places on the screen that remain like that even without any kind of video source. I do have image but the colors are smudged/tinted/ washed out in patches as per defects. This to me looks similar to burn in but I’m shore this is not an OLED.

                  - I did the classic unplug and hold power button to discharge the caps but it didn't help.
                  - I did a factory reset as well...

                  Sharp Aquos LC-60LE635E three blinks
                  by klassic
                  Hi community,

I will describe my problem with a TV in those short following terms to be the most precise :

                  What i have :
                  Sharp Aquos LC-60LE635E
                  power board DPS-162KP-1
                  main logic board QPWBXF733WJN2

                  symptoms :
white led light logo at startup,
after 2 minutes, blinking 3 times a row, repeating
no backlight (and apparently no picture, checked panel with flashlight)
                  no startup sound

                  powerboard investigations :

                  1-2 PNL : 0v
                  3-4 GND
                  5-6-7-8 UR : 13.15v
                  9-10-11-12...

Sharp Aquos LC-32LE600E, No 12v as no PNL_POW
                  by foxyUK
Can anyone help me diagnose this? Almost not worth bothering with, but it has 'sentimental value' for the owner. I'm no TV technician, but dabble a bit.
The TV has standby power but no reaction at all to switching on or reboot steps, No flashing lights or response to menu button. All voltages on the power board are correct apart from missing voltage on pin 12 of CN7003.
There is 13 v on U7053 but no 3v signal to switch it on. I don't really understand whether the 3v should come from U7401 in the standby control area, or (as suggested elsewhere) from the mainboard via pin 12....
