Re: Bauhn ATVS58 Mainboard issue
I have sent the buyer a message.
I will paste it below. Please give me your opinions as to whether you think this is fair or not?
-------------------------------
I have studied the photos (thanks for sending them), and discovered that your TV is a 55" and not the same as the 58" I took the part from.
I really wish that you had asked me about the part being compatible before you bought it, as the part you bought is not suitable for a different sized TV than it came out of.
I clearly stated on the ad that it was a 58" TV and you should check that it is compatible before purchasing. Unfortunately electronic parts from TV's are not transferable based solely on the part number and this is why they all have supplemental stickers showing model numbers, panel models etc.
I'm sorry to say that as your TV is different to the TV that the part was advertised as being suitable for, and you didn't check with me before purchase about compatibility, and attempting to install the mainboard into your TV, very well may have damaged it, I can't see how I would be able to provide a refund.
The end result may very well be that I receive a dead mainboard back and I am out of pocket because you have bought an incorrect part without doing any research to make sure it would work.
I am sorry for the trouble you have experienced, but please in future, make inquiries before purchasing as to the compatibility of the parts.
I have made inquiries to some TV technicians about what could be causing your looping issues, but I have not had any response as yet.
If I get some response I will be sure to let you know what may be the cause, in case it isn't the mainboard after all.
Cheers

His board:

Your suggested board in question:
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...4&d=1595890494
As you can see, your suggested board has Sub woofer amplifier parts installed, and may be also some other component as well, you can see extra 2-pin speaker connector, so the board is not make for his TV model.
I also wonder hwy the barcode sticker is missing.
Your suggested board with the sticker indicating what LCD panel MODEL T-CON is made for: ST5461D04-2
Does he know what the LCD panel he has?
Since the board are not stuffed the same then we cannot tell for sure if they are compatible with each other or not.Leave a comment:

Re: Bauhn ATVS58 Mainboard issue
On a side note..
The guy says his current setup is in a boot loop.
Apparently it turns on and the logo comes up, back screen lights up and in about 30 seconds it turns off.
Any idea what could be the cause of this? Is it normally one culprit cause like a software update or something?
What happen if the LVDS cable is not connected? Will the TV stay on (no image of course)?Leave a comment:

Re: Bauhn ATVS58 Mainboard issue
As you can see, the LVDS connector location of your board for 58" panel is not the same for his 55", that means the pinout for the 58" panel and the 55" panel are not the same thus difference location for the LVDS connector.
You now can see that the barcode numbers are also not the same.Leave a comment:

Re: Bauhn ATVS58 Mainboard issue
He finally got back to me withe the photos of the boards that shows the stickers.
The tv my board came out of was a 58" (which was clearly stated on the ad) and I wasn't aware but it seems that his tv is a 55".
This is the text i showed on the ebay ad...
----------------------
I have a Main Power Board from a Bauhn 58" UHD Smart TV ATVS58-1115
Part Number: CV6308H-D
Used in good condition
This may also be compatible with Akai TV Main PCB AK5515 P/N:AK5515UHDSM-MB, but please do your research I am not 100% certain of this.
This item was removed from a 100% working TV with cracked screen
------------------------
Now Im not 100% sure that i am responsible for him grabbing the card thinking it would work in a different size panel because it had the same board number?
Am I still responsible and have to refund him the money?
I advertised it as a 58" tv, and although I said it may be compatible with an akai 55" (I saw the same board for sale on an ad for that tv), I did advise to make sure it was compatible as I wasnt sure?
I have attached the photos, the one that has connections is his board.Leave a comment:

Re: Bauhn ATVS58 Mainboard issue
Unfortunately I wasnt aware of the sticker compatibility issue so I hadnt stated that in the ad.
I will have to wear it and chalk it up to experience. Its not his fault.Leave a comment:

Re: Bauhn ATVS58 Mainboard issue
Probably the best you can do, that is if the sticker numbers don't match and you stated in the ad to make sure they do, is tell them it's not your fault they didn't verify a match and send it back they pay shipping. Had an incident like that a while back, a "Tv shop" bought a board from me, the board worked fine, they got it put it in didn't work, I said that's strange it worked perfectly, so I asked for the whole model and panel number of the tv, well it wasn't even a model OR screen size match. I said do you think it's fair that I have to pay the shipping on your mistake and offered a refund if he paid shipping, he agreed, I did ask him how a tv shop makes such a rookie mistake but what can you do if you don't play ball you know they're going to give you bad feedback.Leave a comment:

Re: Bauhn ATVS58 Mainboard issue
Looking like it's incompatible, odds are it's still ok, when/if you sell it again maybe verify sticker numbers to insure a match because there are all kinds of people trying to save money by fixing their own stuff, especially in the current situation, which means lots of people without any experience at all and THOSE are the ones that can cost you money. The shipping company is the only one who never loses.Leave a comment:

Re: Bauhn ATVS58 Mainboard issue
At this point it is the lesson learn.
Ask him for good clear pictures of the barcode stickers, I cannot read the prints on the barcode from those two pictures.Leave a comment:

Re: Bauhn ATVS58 Mainboard issue
hmmm
I have asked him for another photo of his "panel model" sticker to see if this is compatible or not. Even though as you are pointing out to me it probably isnt.
This is turning out to be an expensive lesson as I guess I will have to refund him the money he paid for the card, the postage he paid and probably the postage to get the card back to me, so I will be out of pocket on the deal.
Even when I get the card back I wont know if it is any good anymore as I dont have that tv anymore so I dont know how to test it.Leave a comment:

Re: Bauhn ATVS58 Mainboard issue
You can also see that the LVDS connector is not installed at the same location, that main board can be made to be compatible with 5 kinds of LCD panel as needed for each TV model or series.
I hope his T-CON board is not damaged when he plug his LVDS connector to your main board since VCC pin of the LVDS connector may not be the same pin out, or your main board can be damaged too.
It is the same situation with the LED strips that we went through before.Last edited by budm; 07-23-2020, 03:33 AM.Leave a comment:

So in essence, you cant just order a new board on ebay just using the mainboard model number?Last edited by RooTV; 07-23-2020, 03:15 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: Bauhn ATVS58 Mainboard issue
You need to go by the P/N on the barcode sticker for the PCBA.
Both PCB's have the same blank PCB # CV6308H-D, but the PCBA's are not the same.
Blank PCB can be stuffed to make many PCBA for the needed TV models.
From the look of the two boards, the board has option for 5 model of LCD panels as you can see, the LVDS connector is not installed at the same location, so it can be that the VCC pins are not the same location for the LCD panel, that can be big trouble.Last edited by budm; 07-23-2020, 03:16 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: Bauhn ATVS58 Mainboard issue
Im a little confused.
I asked him to send me a pic of the 2 cards together and he has sent me these photos.
They say the same model number but there are differences.
The cable connector next to the largest heat-sink is in a different position on both boards?
One has 2 black connectors on the side and and the other has 1?
Would this make one not work in the TV? I mean, the model number (CV630H-D) is the same, but I cant make out part number to check that.
Can anyone see anything in these photos that I should be suspicious of?
The board that is connected in the pics is his original board.Leave a comment:

It's tough, you want to sell a board but you don't want it coming right back because of bad diagnoses, many times I have asked the buyer exactly what their symptoms were to try to get it right.Leave a comment:

I am trying to fix a samsung washinmachine power supply main board.
I already replaced it with another one to fix the machine but i want to try understand the issue with the old board.
Therefore i hope to be able to get some help to explain what to check in order to troubleshoot.

by Asraf AtbHi everyone,
Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.
Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.
I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....1 Photo -
by notallbadOriginally the tv arrived with dimmed backlights (not failed leds) but everything else worked ok. Adjusting backlight in menu did nothing but voltage changed on dimming control pins,
0% p_dim at 1.65v and a_dim at 1v
50% p_dim at 3.3v and a_dim at 1.65v
100% p_dim at 3.3v and a_dim at 2.88v
Changed backlight leds anyway as always like to have complete peace of mind they wont fail shortly after selling the tv. No change as expected!
Leds are 2 rows of 15 6v leds.
On inspection of the power board found diode MBR3200 shorted so replaced with...6 Photos -
Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

by howardc64All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
- TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
- Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
