upon closer inspection of that connector, that black soot mark rubs off so no damage to the connector.
No damage to the plastic that would indicate heat of any kind.

    Hi guys
    update on this.
    replacement Cables were installed .
The indicator led then went from green alternating to yellow and the same intro music being played but NO backlights!!!
I then inserted the USB with the update.
This time the USB light blinked for a much longer time than the previously attempted update.
But then after approx one minute, the mainboard light went out.
Now the indicator led is flashing white .

    Hi bud,
yes I expect the replacements tomoro to arrive.
It must have been corrosion as I didnt see anything odd under the micro.
Tv powered on with no cables shows this cycling as well ..So most likely was the issue.
I will update once they arrive.

iirc, you press down in the middle section which causes the outer two edge points to lift a bit. Hopefully, someone will know for sure. Don't force things though as finding replacement cables can be tough.
    Thnx bud,
I have already found the cables.Just need to make sure these are beyond
    repair.
Yes,,I will not even touch the connector unless I know how it works.
I will wait for someone to be sure .thnx,

    Yes,
    the cables certainly look suspect.
I have never encountered this connector before.
Can someone advise me on how to remove this.?

Anyways, this sony had the same problem and the fix was to check the cable.

I suspect you will likely find a similar result.
    THNX alot budwich,
I will do this and update for anyone also suffering this issue.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
    by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

SHARP LC-32CHF5111K - stuck at color test mode
    by YellowJacket
    Hi friends,

TV has stuck at - as I googled the term - color test mode. Slowly flashing colors white, red, green, blue, black, over and over again. I tried some hints from internet, like pressing some remote buttons, but nothing worked. I also tried factory reset for Sharp TVs => "while holding vol– & input buttons on tv plug in set when “k” appears push vol– & chan- " , but TV doesn't even start during buttons pressed.
So I decided to flash new firmware to SPI ROM. What do you say, would it help? If so, where can I find some dump? I was unable to find...

Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen3 stuck on "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen
    by BMCappelletti
    Hi everyone.
Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen 3, stuck on the "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen.
Found a lot of people with this issue, but with no definitive answer. Some people managed to get away accessing BIOS, going to Startup and turning off "Option Key Display". For me that only removed the interrupt normal start up message, leaving only the Lenovo logo.
Most people say hitting Enter does not work. It's true, if you wait a few seconds. But if you hit Enter right away you get the options to enter BIOS (which works), run diagnostics (goes to a...

Panasonic tx-55cx802b stuck on panel test mode

Panasonic tx-55cx802b stuck on panel test mode.
It was working normally but few days ago some of the LED reflectors fall off.
I've opened it up carefully, re-glued, while it was open switched it on to test LEDs.
    Then carefully assembled back.
After plugging in to power remote does not work.
Using power button on the TV it turns on but gets itself into a panel testing mode: white, gradient, red, gradient, blue, gradient, green and so on switching between colours.

Anyone knows how to get out of this panel testing mode?

    I've tried so...

HP x360 Chromebook 14A-CA, DA00GIMB6H0 REV:H, flooded, restored, slow and stuck in tablet mode
    by modtool
    Dear colleagues,
I've entered the repair of the chromebook machines just one month ago and I've found some significant differences from the classic laptops or macbooks, so I'm searching some advices.

The owner of this chromebook gave it to me after it has been left flooded by water for almost a week, so chances of repair were not so high, the mainboard was oxidyzed in many spots but I made a nice cleaning, resoldering and component replaging work and now it is almost working.

Among other things I've cleaned many spots from oxyds, reballed CPU, EMMC, EC, replaced...
