LG TVs losing settings after power off (fix ?)

Good day folks. Although I haven't touched any TVs in the past year now, a friend called me up saying an acquaintance of his is having issues with their LG TV which loses its stored channels after every power-cycle. I ran into this issue twice before, so I instantly asked if it's an LG and of course it is, so this is a common issue.

When I was faced with this for the very first time, I tried rewriting and even replacing the SPI chip, which although successful, didn't solve the issue, leading me to believe the problem is in the flash memory, so I ended up replacing the whole board and did the same with the following one, without even bothering to try anything on it. This is the third one I come across...has anyone else had this issue ? Is there anything that can be done to fix these boards in some way, or is the flash responsible, like some bad blocks or something ?....The model's not important right now, though I will post back when I get around to actually having a look at it. Cheers.

    New Toy UNI-T UTi260B - What Settings?
    by RetroComputingGrotto
I've literally just received in the post a UNI-T UTi260B (it's currently on charge).

After quickly scanning the user manual I see there are all sorts of configurable settings (Measurement settings, Palette settings, Point temperature settings and Image Mode). As this is my first Thermal Imaging Camera I have no idea what all these settings are nor if I need to change/configure any of them.

I intend/hope to use this to help me diagnose issues with laptop motherboards so should I just leave the settings as the default or is there someone out there with a UNI-T thermal...

Various Asus Motherboards losing bios settings
    by Billydv1@verizon.net
Trying to track this down. 3 boards all same problem. Rampage IV Extreme, Z87 Pro, Z97 pro. All boot and function correctly but all lose bios and time settings if power is shut off. If power is maintained, sytrms boot and reboot normally. I have verified cmos battery is supplying 3v to board. 8 pin bios chip has continuity to ground but no voltage to vcc pin. I assume that's the pin that maintains the settings with power to bios chip. How do I track this down? What voltage do these bios chips require?

Clevo W25CEW doesn't save Bios settings / shutdown issue
    by Conste
    Hello together,

I have a Clevo W25CEW (Terra 1541) with some strange symptoms:

    1. I cannot save Bios settings by pressing "save settings" in the bios. By pressing "save & exit" it will save the settings.

    2. I can boot normally (UEFI installation), but when I shut the machine down and start it after a few seconds again it will show resume from hibernation and shutdown after POST, just before windows would boot. Then it will go back to factory settings and my UEFI installation will not boot!

    Already changed the CMOS battery...

DELL Inspiron 7567, Brick, BIOS restore to Factory settings issue
    by Shpic
    Hello everyone!

I have a weird situation. I'll try to explain. I bought my laptop with Linux. After half a year I decided to install Windows 10 Pro x64 (I bought it). So, I wiped everything on my HHD drive and installed W10 without any problems. For 3 years the laptop worked well, but I decided to give it to another person. I started preparation to a new user. Firstly I restored Windows to default settings with wiping all user's data, it went well with no issues. And the last point was wrong for me, I decided to restore also BIOS (1.15.0) to factory default. After I pressed the...

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
    by rounin
    Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

    🛠 Original Issue
    The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.
