Good day folks. Although I haven't touched any TVs in the past year now, a friend called me up saying an acquaintance of his is having issues with their LG TV which loses its stored channels after every power-cycle. I ran into this issue twice before, so I instantly asked if it's an LG and of course it is, so this is a common issue.
When I was faced with this for the very first time, I tried rewriting and even replacing the SPI chip, which although successful, didn't solve the issue, leading me to believe the problem is in the flash memory, so I ended up replacing the whole board and did the same with the following one, without even bothering to try anything on it. This is the third one I come across...has anyone else had this issue ? Is there anything that can be done to fix these boards in some way, or is the flash responsible, like some bad blocks or something ?....The model's not important right now, though I will post back when I get around to actually having a look at it. Cheers.
