    Hisense 49HC3 No power

My friend asked me to look at his tv. Personally I'd rather him junk it but I decided to try to fix it. I have no power and no standby lights. It's one of these dreaded TP-MS3393.PC821 main board/PSU. I can't find an exact match and there is no sticker on it like shopjimmy says to look for. The fuses are good and no bulged caps. Where would you suggest I look first?

    Check all the diodes.

      1) Did you at least check and see if you have DC Voltage between the two legs of the main filter cap in the hot side?
      2) What is the FULL model number of the TV? Shopjimmy does not show the result for 'Hisense 49HC3'

Well I found something. Here's the numbers off the tv. I found UD1 blown. I'm searching more now. I would assume that not just that part blew. The diodes I've measured look good so far. I'm assuming the full model number is 49M2160F. I went on shopjimmy to try and read UD1 and I couldn't blow it up without it going blurry.

The input should be pin4 and the output pin3, pin2 should be ground, check if the output is shorted. It could be the buck is just blew. It should be a PT1206E23F

It looks like the P/N for the board is HU49M2160F printed on the sticker on the main filter cap, it also shows the SW version and date.
I did not find anything based on those number yet.
That blown IC looks to be SMPS IC for Boost or Buck converter.

In and out are shorted. I'll remove it and see if there is a short on the board itself. I have lots of boards. I wonder if I could find that chip on another board. Are they common?

So you are saying IN is shorted to OUT? (which is not good) or both IN and OUT are shorted to ground?

Yes the chip is blown. Let me get it removed. I found some dead Sony mainboards, the part numbers that I could read on them are A587S, G8ZF, 3BRA2.

Ok. The buck is out and the board is not shorted. The buck fell apart when I was removing it. Can I get it at digikey? I need to place an order on there.

If you can't repair the board, search tp.ms3393.pc821 on ebay and try to match the connectors. These TVs are branded Haier, Westinghouse, RCA, Polaroid, Proscan, Element....

I saw lots of them on shopjimmy but I would assume I have to buy an eeprom or try to remove this one.
