    UN60J6200AFXZA Backlight issue

    Hello!

I got a TV in my repair store with symptoms of bad LED's. We tore it down and tested the LED's and found bad ones so we ordered replacement strips.

Now after replacing the strips they still are not wanting to turn on. Its like the PSU is not detecting the LED's because the return lines at the connector are the same as the output. Ive tested for bad connectors and can't seem to find any.

Not sure what to do now!

Bad LEDs can damage the power supply. Seen damage to diodes, FETs and the controller IC. Pictures of the power supply board?

Did you check those diodes and the FET in that darkened area for shorts?

I have not yet. In my mind I was thinking if it output power then the board was most likely working. I can do that though!

Remove D9001C and check the RESISTANCE in both directions, it should not show resistance in BOTH directions.

I saw your post about this on another thread with the same PSU.

Just tested it and it looks like it is getting the same both ways. 0.1 OHM's.

                  Sorry that was for BB90004

D9001c get 5.6k one way and 3.0k the other direction. So your answer will be the same to replace it. I'll see if I can find one on DigiKey

Couple different sets of numbers but SF28G is what I think it is.

                        Others are jf25, siyu

                              More feedback for the group.
I just fixed my UN60J6200 which had the identical issue.
Found 40 shorted and 1 open LEDs.
After installing a new LED set from shopjimmy,
it still didn't work, though they lit up with the LED tester.
                              PSU (BN44-0775A) had a bad C9001 diode (SF28G) which
showed 900 ohms both ways. Used a junk box NTE577.
                              Awesome!

I got one of these and waiting for new strips but suspected power supply damage because in Samsungs, the screen is normally dim with no shutdown from shorted LEDs. For search purposes, corrected power supply part number is BN44-00775A . SF28G is 2A/600V and available from Digikey.

I replaced all the strips (63 out of 84 LEDs were shorted) and D9001 tested ok. Usually if the FET and diode test good, I suspect the controller IC is damaged. Board is pretty expensive on Ebay but Buyqual sells a substitute board. I have ordered a substitute board from them previously and it was ok.

I've got 3 damaged power supplies from Samsungs with bad backlights. Diode and FET all tested good and no backlight with all new strips and ended up replacing the power supply.

The other two are BN44-00772A from UN50H6203 and BN44-000769C from UN40H5203. I can only see the marking clearly on BN44-00772A as 7014X.

Might as well order some on Aliexpress and see if it fixes these 3.

Hello, got an iPad Pro A2378 12.9 5th gen with no backlight. Got another test unit without screen, tested the screen, still no backlight with the test unit.
Figured out the backlight on the screen was bad, ordred a new backlight from mobilesentrix, *carefully replaced it* without damaging the lcd, oh well.
Final result, issue is still there, the screen has no back lights. So i'm back to square one, with 3 hours less and 100$ out, issue still on the screen.
The panel is still ok, i can see the apple in the middle of the screen when it kicks in, just no backlight.
                                          Anyone...

Hi I am having an issue with the LED backlight of this TV. I can see the picture with a flash light, so I determined it was a backlight issue.

Initially, after opening it I found 2 shorted and 1 open LED on 2 strips (total of 4). I removed the LEDs and shorted the pads together to verify if the backlight would work.

Testing it, I found the backlight turned on and I measured 54V when TV was in standby (off), and 100v when TV was turned on. The 4 strips each contain 9 LEDs, so 36 in all minus 3.

Instead of putting it back together I decided to replace...

                                          Back Story
I just recently purchased a RZ09-01652 Razer Blade 14 Touch v4(2016) as a project. I suspect the original motherboard had overheated and caused board damage to the vrm's for the CPU and GPU as now that motherboard works however will lockup on you often due to hardware clock issues.
So after some research and looking at options for replacement motherboards I got a replacement RZ09-01952 razer blade 14 motherboard which has the 1060 vs the 970m that was in my original motherboard. I have contacted the seller about the motherboard being bad however I doubt they will be...

I have a Vizio M70-D3 4K with a dark spots backlight issue. It is using the Y8387248A backlight driver board.

On this model each of the 64 transistor powers 2 LEDs. Using my TKDMR TD3H backlight tester I've determined that the backlight LED strips were the issue, and the backlight driver board was just fine. Some LED pairs required 5.9 volt at 155mA, some required 9.5 volt and some were completely open.

I've removed the LCD panel and once the LED strips were exposed I've tested them again by connecting my LED tester directly on the test pads. To my surprise all, I've...
