Has anyone came across the problem of a HDMI port quitting in the 50PN6500? EAX65071307(1.1). It detects the port when the cord is plugged in but just no signal. I followed the traces to the chip then heated the chip with a hair drier for about 4 minutes with no luck. I looked at the HDMI solder contacts. They all seemed to be fine. HDMI port 2 still works fine.

If that were the case then you'd think it would at least flicker by wiggling the cable shouldn't it?Comment

Re: LG 50PN6500 HDMI 1 No Signal
If the hdmi port was bent slightly at any time, it may have bent the pins up away from the board and they won't make contact. These are digital signals so the connection needs to be made for a couple seconds before the signal gets processed.Comment

So if the pins are bent up, the solder connection must be broke right? Are these even solder-able? These pins are very close together.Comment

Re: LG 50PN6500 HDMI 1 No Signal
I have removed and replaced them myself, but they are not easy and if you are not carefull you can damage the traces. I used a solder iron to remove the solder from the mounting lugs, then used my hot air station to remove the jacks. In my case I reused the original jacks. I had to straighten the pins (slightly bend them toward the board) so they made better contact with the traces, originally there was a slight space between the trace and the pins so the the solder would not take properly
I then used my smallest solder tip, flux and almost no new solder to resolder the pins. This was done by viewing through a magnifier so I could see what I was doing.
This is why I recommend checking the pins first, using a magnifier and a needle you should be able to see if the pins are loose or not. If they are not loose then there is no reasont to start soldering them. The other alternative would be to check the continuity between the hdmi cable and the pins of the ic the jack connects to.Comment

by supravit2000Hi, guys!
I am not a professional, all I can do is solder stuff on the boards, so I would really appreciate it if someone with knowledge shares his experience/thoughts on a problem I have with a PS4 console.
My friend gave me an original fat PS4, board model SAB-001, with WLOD, that has been previously opened. I changed the HDMI port, couple of pads on the board were ripped, which I connected to the corresponding caps/resistors? Just did so as in a shown diagram (one of the ground pads I ripped off and left it not connected). However, there was still no signal, so... -
by natizFollowing a power surge, the HDMI ports on a UE65MU7003U no longer work, no matter the port or the source - it shows No Signal.
The other functions work well (eg Netflix app, etc.), its just the HDMI ports.
Is the BN41-02568B board salvageable? Any leads before I open the heatsink cover? board replacement?... -
by Comp_ProHello all,
I am trying to repair this PS5 which came in with a shorted HDMI encoder chip. This issue was not allowing the PS5 to boot and would only beep upon pressing the power button. This is the first time I've had this issue despite replacing many many HDMI ports. After installing the new chip as well as a new HDMI port the console now powers on and appears to be booting all the way but there is no video output. Looking at my HDMI tester all signals are present except for DCC Clock and DCC Data aka CK/DA on my particular tester. These two have direct connections to the encoder...10-09-2023, 01:38 PM -

Hi everyone, over the past few months i have taken a deep dive into motherboard diagnostics and I love the challenge. Currently im trying to learn all about the signals that travel around the motherboard, such as frequencies, enable signals High and Low logic states etc. And i have been learning to read and using the Schematics for this board that i requested here on Badcaps forum, from a few months ago, this is such a great place for these.
I’ve been working on a GA-970A-DS3 (rev. 1.0) that does not post. This motherboard has been my main learning board. I would like share...11-23-2023, 11:02 PM - Loading...
